Hi guys, quick question for you fruity experts.
I am eating greens finally every few days a week, more specifically iceburg lettuce. My question is, do you guys eat the middle bit? what i normally do is get the fiirst 6-8 layers (the greeny leaves) and then throw the big white ball in the middle. Is this okay for me to do? I hate eating it, does this mean i have to eat 2 of them? is 6-8 layers enough for my day?
Eat what tastes good. Compost the rest. I don't eat any of the yellow/white junk personally.
yes! so I am not ALone:P
<p>Yep, I don't like the bitter parts. Bitter is the taste of poisons in nature so I go with my taste buds on these matters, there are bitter greens like rocket that I don't eat anymore since doing 80-10-10 because I realised I just don't like them on their own. I'd eat more greens though if I were you, I've found they make a huge difference to things like my skin texture and muscle tone. I feel much better eating a 2 heads lettuce a day.
Eh, a little here and there, but i'm not crazy about it....just like to get my money's worth. Lettuce is easy grow. Many varieties will allow you to pick selected leaves AND regenerate itself. I'm a novice at gardening, and even though it's summer time I have around 20-30 heads in their youth. Hey, less trips to the grocery store. A variety is best, and I might recommend some arugula as it will regrow leaves time after time.
I just eat what tastes great. I throw the rest to the garden or bushes.
I hope that means harley too throws away the white middle part
More specifically it appears he composts the wasted bits. Do you need someone to hold your hand while you do it?
Its called guidance, was worried that I was losing too much nutrients by throwing the part I didn't like, I feel better now knowing my role model does the same. How about you keep your useless comments to yourself if you do not want to contribute and help. You are not funny, go start your own thread & keep yourself entertained
I eat the bitter parts.
