30 Bananas a Day!

I just finished eating 15 large dry Turkish figs (I was uber hungry) :(

Are figs allowed in raw food?

Also, while we are on this topic - Is there a place where I can get a list of allowed foods, and not allowed foods? I understand that most fruits are ok (Avocados and Durians in limited quantities), boiled veggies are okay during transition period etc.  But a simple one pager that says - "yo raw food noob!! eat these, don't eat these at all, eat these in moderate quantities" - is there one like that? It would be very useful to stick it on my fridge.

European products in general and specifically eastern Euro products are (still) going to be impacted by Chernobyl.  Scottish mutton did not meet the export standard until last summer. [ http://www.farmersguardian.com/home/livestock/scotland%E2%80%99s-ch... ] Anti-nuke campaigner Dr. Helen Caldicott personally avoids Euro products altogether.  Some are skeptical of her references, but since German boar and Scottish sheep have (and had) elevated levels of cesium-137, it is not unreasonable to paint the region with a broad brush in this regard. Awesome link !!

One question - green peas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_pea) - they are awesome though expensive.  this page says not to eat "Beans, legumes and peas" - so green peas are out?

I was reading about the author, on the site (http://rawschool.com/about-nora/)

She mentions reading a few books - I'm going to try them (just ordered the toxemia book).  One of the books she read is this one "nature's first law" - no clue how good or bad it is (it has 2.5 rating on Amazon), BUT one of the authors is david wolfe :(  That stopped me from getting the book.  Anyone read it? Is it worth spending time on?

Is dried fruit still a fruit?

I do eat dried fruit on a regular basis because this makes it easier to add up calories. (ie: raisins, dates, and dried cranberries. I dehydrate my fruit myself, as I have a food dehydrator. You can buy these for relatively inexpensive on amazon.) If you are going to buy dried fruit from the store, just make sure the only ingredients are raisins, or whatever fruit it is.

Personally, I have never tried dried figs; I eat them fresh.

I do not think there is anything wrong with eating dried fruit, just make sure you are drinking tons of water to keep hydrated and to keep your fresh fruit intake higher than your dried fruit intake. For example, today I had 2 servings (1/2 cup) raisins, but I had approximately 18 servings of fresh fruit.

So no, dried fruit is NOT evil. :)

I have Nature's First Law, from when I first got into raw and I would not recommend it. It would definately not go with 80 10 10. There are way better ones out there!
