The more I adopt the aspects of this lifestyle the more things from my old lifestyles I leave behind and find to be useless and a waste of time. But I've noticed that it may be prudent to keep some old habits/activities in my life as if I try to eliminate all of them I start to get depressed and feel alienated.
What are some old habits and hobbies you've kept from your old lifestyle and why?
Had a similar problem. Once identifying it as nothing more than sentimentality and attachment to objects that are not part of myself nor have any need to control/occupy any mindspace, I threw them away and replaced it with things that were more compatible to my goals. It was a telling sign that this emotion was prohibiting what I truly wanted to do with life. Even with the things that replaced the old, it was also a realization that we are nothing but ourselves, we are not our belongings. This gave a breathe of relief, and a realization that we are able to make many more decisions for ourselves than we think. By gut I wouldn't call it minimalism, (though perhaps it would be synonymous) rather a sense of judging things purely by their utility, leaving much more room in my personal experience to see myself and others as ends rather than means. It felt alienating when I had nothing but my past to spin around and nothing in the future (aka present moment of the will) to look forward to.

If it doesn't help you achieve your goals in life then don't waste your time doing it.
If it isn't productive/healthy why do it?
Always do the most important things first, so if you insist on doing unproductive things don't do them until after supper. Still getting to bed @ 8
staying up late is my only bad habit and i need to stop that now!
Sleep, Water, Sugar. I only have trouble with the sleep. Sounds bad, but the most effective thing I've found so far is forcing yourself to get up early, no matter what. If I sleep in and then force myself to go to bed at 9pm, i don't fall asleep until ~1am.
I'm still holding on to the caffeine...I have a shot of espresso in the morning and I am not ready to let go of it
