I gave David the Idea for this Foundation 8 years ago, and helped write up the first flyer to get it going, I am not much of a traveller so was not into going places.
I am happy to see of some of the things they are doing with the tax profits of his superfood/raw food products business.
seems like better things are getting done than most non profits i heard of
I have been looking for an organization like this for a while. I was so happy to find this one and as I read through it, it looked like it has a lot of intelligent thought and integrity to it. To me, planting fruit trees on the earth is one of the most important things we could be doing with our energy.
It takes a lot to start and operate a foundation. I think this is an important one. If it wasn't out there I would feel that I should do it myself but I don't feel that that is my most accurate calling. I feel happy that it is there and can support the cause.
And I agree, David Wolfe appears to me to be a very good business man and I am impressed to see that he has put his profits and his savvy into a nobel cause like this. To me, the good from this far outweighs whatever lack of integrity I may happen to see existing in his selling of products.
They bought our community garden nearly 100 root ball 3 yr old trees this fall. We just finished planting them a few weeks ago. The arborist they sent to supervise the planting was very knowledgeable though he seemed surprised when I told him I thrive eating nothing but fruit. It was a great experience working with them, and we will probably be getting a bunch more trees from them next season.
Funny about the surprise to a fruit diet! Haha... The skeptic plants the fruit tree... then when all the modern devices go awry he lives off the fruit from his local trees and becomes a believer and a knower of the way of Mother Nature.
