I have a friend who works as a grocer of a produce store. We're good buddies, but somehow we got on the topic of a high fat diet. He was talking about drinking olive oil. I told him that a high fat diet from animal fat or plant fat is not good. He came back saying that plant fat isn't water-soluble and that it gets burned up as energy quickly. I told him that the fat you eat is the fat you wear, and that olive oil is 100% fat. He said it's the good type of fat.
I tried to pull up one of Freelee's vids talking about fat intake, but the room was very noisy so we couldn't hear. He then said "Is she a doctor? How does she know?" and I told him that she had been on this lifestyle 7.5 years. He said, "Well, that might work for her but it won't work for everyone." He is definitely not a fit guy but not fat either. He tells me that he eats a very high fat diet and is fine.
What do you guys suggest that I tell him so he understands a little better? I was kind of at a loss for words, finding it hard to defend myself.
Dang. I don't get how people can just drink olive oil, or why they would even consider it. I guess tell him to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_42LfH8veEU This guy doesn't seem too thrilled about drinking it at 1min20secs lol.
I know a lot of unfit skinny people who eat high fat...doesn't make them healthy. See if he can run a marathon on olive oil.
Joberry.Why do you assume that we all want to run a marathon and especially one on oils?It is not compulsory and one may find lots of other forms of movement far more enjoyable and still be healthy.What comes to man drinking oil,I would say does he think he is a motor car? But godspeed with your marathons nevertheless. :))
See why oil is a no go for great health:
* Oils (why?)
Exactly, so many forms of fitness in the world, you could probably do a different one every week for the rest of your life! And I wouldn't want to do any of them on a tum full of oil ;)
Joberry,I'm not against marathons.I'm just not talented enough and besides I know nothing ab them,so I may sound critical,but in reality I'm just desperately (or otherwise) looking for SOME sort of exercise that I would REALLY enjoy doing (plus I was commenting on oil guzzling).There may be others who are in the same place as me as regards to running so far.But good for you,I say and all others who are that way inclined.Wish the wind will be behind you always!
