Ok so I had some slight dental issues here and there before going 100% raw, but I feel like my gums are receding like crazy and tooth ache here and there. I eat a ton of citrus and mangoes. I'm guessing its all the citrus. Does anyone have any similar experiences and how did you handle it?
i was eating about 100 grapefruits a week. now i had teeth issues before that but the grapefruits where awesome tasted great i couldnt stop eating em. well it made my teeth soooo white all my plaque fell off i coudlnt have been happier. Then my teeth got really sensitive and i had to cut out the grapefruit sadly. I'm still waiting for the pain to ease up so i can eat them again tho haha.
so yes citrus could be your issue back off it maybe for a week or so.
Oh wow. So grapefruit whitens? I'm gonna have to try some myself. lol.. Now that I think about it, I have had more mangoes than citrus the past week, save for a few limes here and there in my water and I still have the cavities. I guess I'll hold off on the lime too or see a dentist.
So what stage of the journey are you on right now? Are you still on weight loss or maintaining?
I have no idea if i'm on weight loss or maintaining haha. I just eat like a pig and I honestly wish the last of the weight would come off but its seems to be slow go at this point. I dunno any tricks to make it any quicker on this diet. I dropped 5lbs initially when i started this diet but its stayed steady since. I notice changes otherwise but not on the scale.
yeah grapefruit was like magic cleaned up my teeth in not time nice and white and all the plaque fell right off after a while of eating it. worked great I had tried whitening products and stuff before but the grapefruit was better then all of those. I didnt eat it for this reason tho i just kinda got hooked on grapefruit the whiter teeth was just a side effect of my addiction haha.
Really? Wow that's interesting. lol. You must have really sweet grapefruits in your neck of the woods, cos I find the ones I find at my local store are a tad tart. I'll try them though I could use a little teeth whitening. When you were SAD, you were more savoury than sweet inclined- yeah? And I would honestly pig out, but I'd rather have something new to wear to the next social. haha. I eat a healthy amount though.
And 5lbs is good. I guess weight gets kinda stubborn when you have lost a ton of it already, hence the resistance. I calorie cycle sometimes, and I find that it works. And at the risk of evoking the wrath of the 30bad gods, I find intermittent fasting has helped me. We all fast intermittently without even knowing it. I'd say IF is essentially not eating late at night because your done eating at 5pm. I don't see what's horribly wrong about that. And I guess INTENSITY INTENSITY INTENSITY. I always have to add something more intense on. Like I started training at a boxing club this week.
yeah i get some good pink grapefruits. and yeah when i was SAD you couldnt get me to eat cake sorry sweets where not my thing.
I ponder the calorie stuff and no eating after 5pm etc.. but it seems night time is when i do the bulk of my eating oddly. and the first week or so on this diet i learned about not eating enough I'd wake up at 3am ravenous! so i'm nervous about cutting back I dunno that I could. The amount of running i do keeps me hungry non stop.
Im trying to up my intensity. If i up my intensity i up my running shoe costs and food costs haha the appetite monster really wants to be fed!. But my gripe is I'm good for an hour or so of running per day I can squeeze in another 30 min to an hour in some days too. I'd like to ease it up beyond that even but with kids and work and various other obstacles its tough to fit it all in. I envy these people that have time to run 25 miles a day and stuff like that I dunno how they find the time!
I know one person has wife and kids and he does the iron man stuff etc he's constantly training. god bless his wife she must have her hands full taking care of probably everything so he can train all the time! My wife would kill me!
Haha. It's funny how being on the HCRV makes you on top of things in terms of how much you are spending in terms of food, running shoes. e.t.c Funny enough I think I spend less now that I'm on HCRV than when U was on the SAD because there's no miscellaneous eating out and random drinks.
And it's amazing that you've been able to pull the off while being married. Is your family in on the lifestyle with you?
Just out of curiosity, what inspired you to embark on this journey? You are pretty much settled down, you should have taken the focus off yourself and onto future grand kids ;) Just kidding.
I have always wanted to model, and there are not as many jobs for size 12 models. . .So my motivation is strictly to get more jobs and hopefully break into the movie industry.
oh and mangos are kinda sweet it could be the sugar i cant chew dates its murder on my teeth. So stuff like that i just blend and drink in smoothies i'm just as happy.
I hear sensitivity in the teeth is just another part of detoxification. Eventually your teeth come out stronger. I hope this true. And blending is a great idea, but sometimes I get tried of chugging 3 litres of water and 3 smoothies a day. lol. Can be hard your throat muscles.
I hope so I've always had sensitive teeth so i cant blame the diet I guess. as far as the smoothies and water goes my only main gripe is i get cold really easily so if i drink a big nice cold smoothie it could be 80 out and i'm shivering!. Doesnt even have to be ice cold either!
what do you mean by rough? my teeth are kinda 'rough' it feels like there's plaque on them but its not plaque, it's still there after I brush..
Make sure you eat about 1/2-2 heads of lettuce greens a day:
The following formula works well for long term health and success:
Diet in a Banana Peel
Eat a raw frugivore diet where most carbohydrates and calories come from whole raw ripe sweet and juicy fruits like oranges, papaya, or mangoes, supplemented with about ½-2 heads of lettuce greens a day (not kale, chard, and spinach) and about a handful of raw nuts or seeds a day. Eat simple meals but a rainbow of foods over a period of time.
Eat enough on a daily basis with at least 2500 calories for females and at least 3000 calories for males. Drink 2-4 quarts of water a day and pee clear. Get 8-12 hours of sleep as needed. Exercise about 30 minutes a day 5-6 days a week with at least one day off for rest and repairs. Get about 30 minutes of sunshine a day on your skin for vitamin D, mental health, eye health, and healthy bones and teeth.

Ai ai Captain. That's good advice. At first when I started was like I'm not counting calories, I'll just eat till I am full. Well that strategy is not sound proof because someday I feel low energy, apparently I'm wasn't eating enough carbs. Also mostly ate Mangoes and kale. . .I try to mix it up and eat a rainbow within a period of time. I love mango though.
About the lettuce, that's a new one. I've never heard that lettuce is superior to the almighty kale and spinach. Well it tastes better blended than kale and spinach, so that might just be a good thing for me.
