So I came across something interesting yesterday and I thought I would share it. I have 6 tattoos planned and before I start to get them I thought I'd look up whats in the ink of tattoos.
http://www.fametatu.com/?p=5600 (just one of the sites)
Turns out burn animal bones and other animal products are/can be used in most black inks as well as other colours.
I was blown away when I found this out, and also that they don't tell you.
Guess i'm going to have to ask the shops before i got to them if they use burnt animal in their pigments.
But I figured I'd share this with all of you, who also want/have tattoos.
Good to know- will give it a shot!
hi withney - yes, the inks have animal parts in them unless you advocate for vegan ink - there is a tattoo group here if you wanted to take a look - http://www.30bananasaday.com/group/vegan-tattooing
would love to hear your thoughts and see your pics there when you get you tats done.
I deff will, I should be getting my first few over my birthday in Kansas City :) And I will add the group thank you.
I have 7 full pieces planned out so far so I'll need an extensive colour kit as well
