30 Bananas a Day!

Which one is healthier and why? Thinking of starting the acclaimed potato diet/cleanse tomorrow and need to know what kind of potatoes to buy.

Both so you don't get sick of one, I usually prefer white but sweet are so much better when done the right way. Sweet have more nutrients but white imo can be used in more ways because of the more neutral flavour. How about sweet potatoes for breakfast and white for lunch and dinner?

Both are good however sweet potatoes are a little higher in calories and have more nutrients overall per equivalent weight.

Instead of mashed potato I make a mix of potato and sweet potato.

The following link to a study indicates that one can live on a diet of mostly sweet potato and remain in good health as did the highlanders of Papua New Guinea - they apparently obtained about 90% of their calories from the sweet potato;

But white potatoes are also good - as the Irish experienced before the potato blight wiped out their potato crop in the 1840s;

Potatoes and sweet potatoes are not related.

Just curious? Why would you post about a potato diet/cleanse on a Raw/Raw till 4 website?

2. If you want to get the RT4 results then we recommend fruits & greens ONLY to be eaten till 4pm every day then a high carb cooked dinner of plants. No cooked food during the day. Food combining rules still apply.

3. 1000+ calories from fruit for breakfast and 1000+ from fruit for lunch is recommended for success, then have a high carb cooked plants dinner. Examples are a meal of potatoes/root veggies (several lbs) or several cups of rice or gluten free pasta with low fat, low sodium sauce.

Whichever one you can get down your neck the most.

If you're going to do it, just make sure you get enough calories, the type of potato doesn't matter, although of course the source (local, organic, non-organic, shipped from states/countries away, etc) matters a bit.
I'd try to average at least one type of sweet potato at least once a day or two, but other than that regular white potatoes are fine, or Yukon gold/red (from what I can remember), or any of the couple thousand varieties of potatoes you may be able to find theoretically.
