I recently moved into an old building (in a different city) which is very dry and the heat is cranked (I have no control over it). So...my skin (scalp, chapped lips, eyes) is a mess! I have been using baking soda to cleanse and coconut oil to moisturize, as I have read a few recommendations elsewhere. Dr. Bronner's irritates my skin for some odd reason, so I'll just put that out there.
I was referred to an eye clinic after a few weeks of dealing with this (I have "dry eye", apparently) and the optometrist wants me to use two different types of eye drops along with an ointment. The ingredients are basically vaseline: petroleum, mineral oil and lanolin :( I do NOT want to use these products. I hope I send this to the right category. Sorry if not. I don't usually write posts or blogs, etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
have you tried shea butter? Basically would be helpful if you listed everything you tried. I'd try to drink loads more, shea butter or any other vegan butter, apple cider vinegar, lemon, wheatgrass juice and / or fatty stuff such as blended seeds made into butter but not too much blended either so that they don't loose too much of their properties. I've just applied wheatgrass fiber juice on my skin right before seeing your post. It made my skin want to exfoliate and now my skin is soooo smooth :)
Thanks! I planned to buy shea butter and argan oil, among other things. I want to make my own natural products. I wonder if there was any alternative to the typical drugstore eye drops. The entire time I'm outdoors, my eyes water. It's getting really annoying.
I haven't tried anything other than what I mentioned. I was given samples of eye drops by the optometrist but as for other natural remedies, none so far.
