I'd say you are close. I'd try to get in another 500 calories if I was you.
How to find cheap fruit.
1. Get to know a produce manger.
2. Find a food liquidation store
3. Find a wholesale store.
4. Dumpster dive.
Hope that helps you Daniel.
That was a very kind and helpful reply Brian...thank-you for taking the time to help Daniel :D
thanks for that info :), i currently live in the country and conveniently live near a major fruit supplier and supermarkets but that is it sadly. i have no idea where a wholesale would be around here or a liquidation store
how would i go about getting fruit in bulk from supermarkets? because i'm really sick of eating high carb alternatives to fruit haha
To get fruit in bulk from supermarkets simply go up to a produce worker and ask if you can buy a case of fruit and what that price would be. Some stores will not sell by the case and some stores will not give you a discount for buying in bulk. Don't ask for a discount, but see if they give it to you.
Relationship is everything. I sometimes shop at a major chain grocery store (QFC). They typically never give me a discount on bulk fruit, except when I talk to the produce manager. The manager sees me in the store buying greens all the time and I've talked to him a few times about fruit and stuff.
Since he knows I'm a regular customer he will sometimes give me a discount on bulk fruit. I once got $16 off a case of fruit from the produce manager.
Also make sure to ask the produce manager if you can buy any of the ripe fruit that they throw away. Some will make an exception and sell it to you for very cheap. You never know until you ask.
I recomend using https://cronometer.com/ to make sure your getting enough calories.
I'm not sure if any stores near you have bananas for super cheap, but usually you can get ones that are cut, and individual for .37 cents a pound! Today I got about 30 bananas for $3 with that price at my local grocery store! Very good fruit to be having on this diet
