I need help! I'm 16 and I've been on the rawtill4 lifestyle for two months now and for the past 3-4 days EVERYTIME I drink my breakfast or lunch smoothie I get a terrible stomach ache, so bad that I feel like I want to cry. I follow food combining rules but I very rarely eat organic (it is very expensive where I live). Maybe that's what's hurting me, but I really have no idea. Someone please help me, I don't know what to do. Thanks!!
id suggest eating whole foods instead of smoothies. chewing is a huge part of the digestive process. do you chew your smoothies?
Good point about chewing even a smoothie, ideally the same number of times you would solid food.
If this is an issue, try to space it out a bit like you would a meal rather than just chugging it down.
Were you drinking smoothies fine for the past two months, and only now for the past few days you're experiencing discomfort? Try to think what might have changed in your habits or lifestyle.
How ripe is your fruit?
Are you beginning your day with at least a quart of water by itself?
Great point! or try watering down your smoothies more! All ripe aswell for sure!
Yes, I do chew my smoothies, but yesterday I tried drinking them slower which helped a lot. I still got a stomach ache, but minimum. The problem is that I can't eat that slow on the weekdays, since I have school. :( My fruit is suuper ripe, and everyday I wake up and drink 850ml of water.
Right now I'm having grapes for lunch, and I had to stop because they were giving me a stomach ache. I AM eating slow, and I am hydrated, so I don't know what's wrong..
I have the same issue whenever I'm dehydrated. How much water do you drink a day? I found that it's not the amount of water I drink before I eat but the amount of water I drink on daily basis that makes difference in my hydration levels, and therefore digestion of fruit based meals.
Melina, we recommend drinking enough H20 to pee near clear at least 10-12x daily.
I drink about 2-3 liters per day, and I fill the blender with water up to the top, so I don't think I'm dehydrated.. should I be drinking more?
How much time does it take you to finish your smoothies? And how many calories are usually in those smoothies? Typically it takes me an hour to an hour and a half in lecture class to sip down and chew a 2k calorie banana-date smoothie.
When I am in a rush (which happens a lot) I have to drink it in 20 minutes, if not, it takes me 40min to 1 hour. Each smoothie is about 750-1000 calories.
Don't drink in a rush. Don't gulp it down with any bubbles, if that helps any bit. Do you drink your water 15-30 min before every meal?
