So what are the best foods to eat when it's snowy outside, there is Christmas music playing and you're craving something warm, buttery and sweet???

Ive heard of people put a banana smoothie in a bottle and then dip it in hot water in the sink.

 

Personally after not having a full winter since 2002, I just cant hack the cold weather when I have the option of sunshine all day.

When there are cold days in florida and I feel for something warm, I would warm a cup of water just slightly and drink it.  Also I have made soups in the vitamin that become warm and can be used on a chilly day.

raw in the winter is fun. all the best tropical fruits like papaya and cherimoya are in the shops. i almost struggle more in thr spring when there is mostly low calories fruits like strawberries cause even though they are yummy they are hard to fill up on

A quick question... can we have herbal teas? how about honey? I am new to this diet and its my first raw winter . Would appreciate some info, the tea helps me to stay warm.



Hi Irina,

I know some individuals do drink tea, but it's not recommended for 811 as teas are a stimulant. Also, I don't believe honey is recommended either as it is not vegan and most commercial honeys are very processed and mainly sugar, not honey at all. Maybe if you really need the herbal tea to stay warm and raw, look for a non-caffeinated one.

I have to read the book again. Generally i dont drink normal tea,
just herbal infusions, they are decaffeinated, but they react with the body one
way or another for sure, maybe that’s not an option for  the optimum health :)



Herbal teas (non caffeinated) are not stimulants. I drink herbal teas with abandon. :) It's a personal choice-- do what your body craves.

What>?!  Name one herbal tea, I'll name you the stimulant.

how about peppermint , roibos?

dates make me super warm too!  I think it's fine :)
