30 Bananas a Day!

Sore, painful popping joints especially knees and elbows but all joints are affected

I've never had any joint problems in my life. I was in Hawaii for about 6 months being very active every day after being sedentary before leaving. No joint problems whatsoever over there. Fell off the raw wagon for about 3 months I was mostly cooked vegan...was riding a bike a lot over there came back after about 2-3 weeks of not a lot of activity I started riding again here in washington state. Was fine for a while but after a few longer rides my knees became too sore had to stop riding. I road long rides in Hawaii didn't even think about me knees. So i tried running got worse...i pretty much cant do cardio for fear it will get worse. I'm mostly raw again and problem hasn't improved much but isn't to bad as long as I don't do cardio which really sucks. I lift weights too and I don't do squats or similar leg exercises because I'm afraid to make it worse. What's going on here? This started while still on cooked and continues on raw this therefore can't then be detox can it? The only thing that seems to help is being careful about it. Why me? I also have to say my joints in general seem slightly better but I don't think my knees have improved much...

Hey Nick I have some important questions for you first :)

* How long have you been 100% LFRV?
* When did you last have cooked food?
* How much water do you drink a day and are you peeing clear?
* How much sleep do you get? What time do you get to bed?
* How much sunshine do you get?
* How much exercise do you do?

Thanks!
I have been going back and forth between lfrv and cooked for a while now, but have been mostly raw lfrv for about 2 months if I eat something cooked it's roasted veggies veggie soup veggie California rolls (with soy sauce) I know bad huh?

I had cooked a couple of days ago

Loads of water 1gal or so up to 3gals if exercising a lot (I sweat tons always have in fact it's hard for me to drink enough in a hot environment because I lose it so fast) very clear

10-12 most nights. Too late sometimes my job has me on a weird schedule thinking about changing jobs to remedy that

Lots of sun for the last 9 months or so not good before that though I also take vitamin d as well

Was doing a lot more before this situation almost daily running riding or walking for an hour plus. Now I just lift weghts a couple of days a week 2-3 hours each time and walk 1-2 times a week for 45min to an hour.
I also have a fruit only past where I ate nothing but fruit for 5 months low fat before Hawaii and another time for 3 months right before Hawaii. Then it was mostly fruit for 4 months in Hawaii until about two month in I decided to honestly give 811 a go and started eating vegetables again. Then I was back on cooked for about 3 months and the last 2 months I have been mostly lfrv but not 100%. I started having the easily wounding, slow healing, scrapes and scaring (from my other post) I would say about 7 months ago when in Hawaii I didn't notice it before this. In fact my hand got infected about 4 months ago in Hawaii and swelled up really badly so I went to the doctor and very reluctantly took antibiotics for it. It was pretty bad.
Hey thanks Nick :) I really feel its important you also put the following information in your header so people have all the facts...I copied this from your other thread...

"I have been going back and forth between lfrv and cooked for a while now, but have been mostly raw lfrv for about 2 months if I eat something cooked it's roasted veggies veggie soup veggie California rolls (with soy sauce) I know bad huh?

- Ok so you haven't actually been doing LFRV, it's important to establish this. Going back and forth off raw and cooked is not doing LFRV and it really is quite damaging for the body (and not to mention the mind). Being MOSTLY LFRV is not doing LFRV, does that make sense? For this reason our results will not be consistent with those following the lifestyel correctly.

"Loads of water 1gal or so up to 3gals if exercising a lot (I sweat tons always have in fact it's hard for me to drink enough in a hot environment because I lose it so fast) very clear"

- This is great, good job, keep this up. From the post above this I can see that this is only a new thing in the last 3months, remember we can literally have YEARS of dehydration debt to catch up on. This can affect every function of the body especially healing.

"10-12 most nights. Too late sometimes my job has me on a weird schedule thinking about changing jobs to remedy that"

- You must address this, you will not get optimal healing if you are getting to bed late, you actually miss out on vital aspects of immune system healing if you miss the hours before midnight.

"Lots of sun for the last 9 months or so not good before that though I also take vitamin d as well"

- Dr McDougall has something interesting to say about VitD tablets, he believes people are better of using 'safe' sunbeds ....do a google.

"Was doing a lot more before this situation almost daily running riding or walking for an hour plus. Now I just lift weghts a couple of days a week 2-3 hours each time and walk 1-2 times a week for 45min to an hour."

- Sounds quite sufficient to me however I"m sure your lymph system would appreciate more pumping.

- Honestly Nick you need to do this lifestyle 100% to be actually DOING this lifestyle or else you won't gain the associated benefits. It's hard for me to really comment more than this until you are doing it all the way or else you aren't giving the lifestyle a proper go. That's why on 30BaD we recommend people eat ALL raw not some raw. Are you ready to do it properly?
Freelee asked very important questions.
this sound a bit like a bacterial/viral thing you can get from traveling. i had the same thing happen from an infection. causes an autoimmune response. have you had a stomach flu/infection or throat infection, fever prior to this? if you dont remember one you might be dealing with a low grade inflammation from a different source but i'd check for lyme and all of those infectious diseases (dont wanna scare u but checking never hurts) fasting helps also a ton of herbs for it. its fixable once u know what it is.

What I've found out about my symptoms and it's (my) story....

Things got a lot worse from the above preliminary symptoms, my joints got really bad, wounds stopped healing, my teeth became loose, the enamel on my teeth were worn down and parts of my teeth looked transparent and I became very depressed (to name a few symptoms)...then I went to the doctor! Finally! and got tested and tested and tested!

That was then...this is now...

For the most part, my symptoms have normalized...I'm still having minor joint symptoms but they are not getting worse anymore...I'm no longer doing 811 anymore or vegan or vegetarian even! lol I'm not eating very healthy at all actually...Many studies have shown that stress is the number one killer and I've had major problems with stress my whole life.  PTSD, Social Anxiety Disorder, and chronic Depression...( are some of the labels I've acquire) It almost killed me dispite my MAJOR lifestyle changes and diet changes...After all kinds of tests from several different doctors it turns out what was going on was that I had a severe vitamin C deficiency!!! Full blown scurvey!!! Which is fatal if not treated with vit c as well as extremely rare if not unheard of in modern times! If you can believe that! lol It almost killed me! I had no, zero vit c in my blood when tested, I was also low in magnesium and sodium...But NO vitamin c! It confused the "heck" out of my doctors especially when I told them about my "crazy" fruit based diet that is high in vit C...lol The doc was sure it was protein deficiency until my results came back...The scurvey was so bad my teeth were even becoming loose and on their way to falling out! My "total" protein was within range and my vit C in my blood didn't even register...Zero! The doctor was shocked a little embarrassed and very confused and the funny thing was he was a cooked food vegan and he still insisted the diet was nuts and I definitely had protein deficiency! He recommended eating peanut butter, not understanding the "raw" concept of the diet! lol....Anyway I had to start taking off the chart amounts of vitamin C far more than the doctors recommended before my symptoms started to normalize...I did a ton of research and learned all about vit C which is the "stress" vitamin and also necessary for collagen formation which is necessary for healing wounds, for cartilage and other connective tissue formation ( joints) and also necessary for healthy teeth enamel, all areas I was having major symptoms in. Vitamin C is considered one of the if not the most important vitamin known because it does all kinds of other things that I wont mention because its a huge list, and you have to get it from your diet. Also if you dont have enough vit C you can get very depressed (which I did!) which along with all my other symptoms created quite a downward spiral...I almost died and the diet wasn't saving me...at all! Since I was taking insane amounts of vitamin C....equivalent to the amount needed or suggested by naturopaths to treat cancer patients...I was even taking IV vitamin C for a while! I was the youngest person in the IV drip room! I felt very out of place and scared and alone, no one had ever seen this before and just wanted to blame my diet high in vitamin C or talk about retesting my protein levels! Seemed pretty ridiculous to me!....I needed to find the cause so that I could stop taking all this vitamin C I didn't want to be dependant on it forever and there had to be a cause right?....Also in the amounts I was taking it wasn't cheap or fun...although it's cheap in "normal" doses....I decided  I really need to do whatever possible I can think of to try to address my stress because I knew it was severe and probably killing me, dispite all the self-help, therapists, meditation and the myriad of things I've tried over the years to try to deal with it or overcome it...On the recommendation of Bill Harris, a meditation technology creator, meditation expert and well known personal growth teacher I started seeing a hypnotherapist to do "Timeline Therapy." A method recommended by Bill for people who do Holosync, a powerful meditation technology which uses sound to induce meditative brainwave states in the mind, (which really works!) but have huge subconscious resistance to the change it creates. In other words if you have a lot of subconscious resistance to change (the more trauma you had growing up in your family the more subconscious resistance you tend to have) Holosync can really stress you out. The solution is to go into your subconscious and release the "emotional charge" from the traumas so you are less reactive to "triggers" and can therefore change more readily without as much or as intense upheaval in the process. NOT everyone has to do this...not that it wouldn't be helpful for everyone but it's especially helpful for people who have massive resistance subconsciously even though consciously they really want to change....change happens in the subconscious! My hypnotherapist used Timeline Therapy as well as other methods like NLP also and he had his own unique technique he developed over the years. Working with him I uncovered some serious issues from my childhood that happened to me that I had blocked out that undoubtedly was the cause of my PTSD and other stress related problems...Think about the most traumatic thing you can think of to happen to a little, very, very little boy (started when I was a baby actually) and you can probably guess what it was....Anyway we worked through all that and "released" the "emotional charge' associated with the traumas that were stored in my subconscious mind and things changed! It was very difficult and an amazing experience and during this time of about 6 months of working with the subconscious a lot of my major traumas were released and eventually I no longer needed to take vit C! I still have some symptoms of vit C deficiency but with continued subconscious work I'm hoping that totally resolves itself, but its pretty minor and its not getting worse so I don't feel the need to take vit c for it at this point...I think it will slowly go away completely, hopefully....So in summary if your stress levels are severe enough this diet will NOT save you! I know its diet AND lifestyle BUT stress is created inside your mind not from what goes on outside of you! All stress is self-created what goes on outside of you is just the trigger...there actually is NO stress outside of you at all...just "stressors" knowing this intellectually and having a mind that doesn't react to stress are two very different things!...I needed and still need a lot of work before I get to a place of little stress. Most studies say about 90 percent of your health is psychosomatic (mind over matter) for better or for worse...Having a healthy mind is the key to having a healthy body, diet and lifestyle is just 10% of the equation....I always knew this intellectually and I tried to address stress through meditation and other methods but it wasn't enough for me....I had some serious blocked out traumatic things happened to me that were driving my stress responses all my life and until i tried hypnosis and timeline therapy I just couldn't get access to them on my own...now I have!  One other thing I would like to say that I came across during my vitamin C research is...that molecularly Vitamin C and Sugar are very similar...they therefore use the same cell receptors to enter the cells in your body and one web site stated that because of this if you eat a high sugar diet especially over a long period of time what happens is that the vitamin C and the sugar kind of compete to get into the cells...and if you eat a high sugar diet the sugar will win and you may develop scurvey! This site claimed that those "Limeys," the English sailors who developed scurvey... not from lack of fresh fruits and vegetables but because of the preponderance of carbohydrates and alcohol they took on their voyages...I don't know if this is true but its certainly interesting! lol When my symptoms totally clear up I will probably try 811 again to test this...If I develop symptoms of scurvey again I'll know that my body cannot handle all that sugar and that 811 was the cause of my near death from lack of vitamin C, but I dont know that yet...I do however at this point believe that its probably more likely that my severe stress is what caused the scurvey as vitmin C is the "stress" vitamin and is used up rapidly when one is under major psychological or physical stress...As I mentioned before I was also low in magnesium which is the "stress" mineral and when I had a hair mineral analysis done, my levels showed a "stress pattern" in their ratios according to the lab and naturopath...It is also possible that it was a combination of the diet and my stress...sooner or later I'll find out which is the case!
Interesting. From the date of your initial post it has been a year. Curious how the "symptoms" of your condition were not present since childhood, since the stress was. It seems your health issues are still unresolved, especially from the perspective of Natural Hygiene. In any case I would say the possiblity of your body "not being able to handle all that sugar" is unlikely at best.

I felt like I was sick and starting to deteriorate about 5 years ago and that's when I changed my diet and lifestyle...but it wasn't enough! The effects of stress is cumulative...over time it kills you...NOT immediately! This would explain why this happened very gradually. That is of course if the cause was in fact the stress which at this time I believe it was. My symptoms have decreased dramatically and hopefully will continue to do so. I don't feel like I'm dying anymore that's for sure!
