30 Bananas a Day!

I was wondering what you all thought about this theory. I woke up with a sore throat and a stuffy nose today, definitely bad enough that it's not just detox. The thing is, I can't really afford to be sick right now, it is crunch time in university. Was thinking about trying this, any concerns?

If it was me, and I was in a crunch time, needing my energy........I would not fast, because I would feel weaker. That's my body. I would instead select the most non mucous fruits and veggies, and eat lighter perhaps, drink lots of water, and rest more. I would also drink carrot juice for me and do lots of green smoothies, because it feels good. My most mucousy fruit is bananas so I would avoid them for my own body. Hope you feel better soon!
Hi Jordan, drink lots of water and get plenty of rest. If you want you can do a short 1-2 day fast, but it is the rest and water which will speed your recovery, not avoiding fruit. You can eat small quantities of water rich fruit if you wish, it shouldn't hinder your recovery in any way. My mother came down with the flu a few weeks ago (yes it seemed to be the dreaded H1N1), and I talked to her and told her to stay in bed, drink lots of water, eat some juicy fruit and/or fresh squeezed orange juice as needed. Within two days she recovered, and she said was in better health than before she got sick, and apparently she was really ill for those couple days. So a cold should easily be alleviated by lots of rest in bed, water, and some fruit if desired.
well, all sicknesses are a form of detox, no matter if its a minute cold, or a full blown cancer. raw-food-health is a great website, and if you feel your body needs that fasting remedy then go for it. just listen to your body, do you really want to eat? or do you feel you have to eat because its time? fast for a day or 2, or if not possible, fast during the day, and eat melons at night, with possibly some celery. really, just listen to your body and do what you feel is right.
Germs don't cause disease!
Yeah, the jury is actually out on that one, I know.
I personally believe that germs can cause some types of illness when the body is out of whack, but I do not think that germs cause colds.
Fasting is great, but when that happens for me, and I am not in the best position to fast. I eat a ton of citrus instead. Lots of Oranges! Usually the citrus does the trick and within a 1-2 day island, I feel good as new :)
