hey fruitbats :)
so i have been taking birth control since 2011 and stopped for about 3 weeks due to insurance problems.
now i am back on it and having horrible acne :(
i have not had sex for two months now and think i could remain abstinent.
i don't trust myself enough though haha
anyone advise going off the pill?
maybe if i could remain abstinent for 6 months, i could trust myself better and stop taking it..
what do you guys think?
Can't tell you what to do either but I also got horrible acne last time I went back on a pill and one of the reasons I thought of trying it again was to get rid of acne, and I got sore breasts, and I got a period that was all the lining, like a big mucus clog.. it looked like a miscarriage (but I knew I hadn't, hadn't had the sex to miscarry) so those are the other things a bad pill can do.. just incase any happen and it freaks you out.
I would advise to stop taking it. They messed up my body (along with other things).
Get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and learn how to use Fertility Awareness Method by taking your morning temperatures and observing cervical mucus and position. This is by far the best method because you learn more about how your body works and no condoms are involved (unless you want to have sex when you are fertile). If done correctly there is no chance of pregnancy.
megan does an awesome video for birth control :
as a dude i'm a bit shy to comment here, but this video came up in my subscriptions, and although it doesn't much apply to me, perhaps it can be of help to you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_X5z-W-8lg
You should definitely stop taking the pill not only because of the side effects, but because animal suffering is behind it and there are alternative methods of birth control without hormones/animal products. Such as:
- only condom (from the male partner)
- copper spiral (IUD) - although that's usually easier for women who gave birth at least once
- gynefix interval (IUD) - also for childfree/childless women appropriate
I'd throw the pills away immediately if I were you! In my opinion the condom should always be present not only because double protection is better, but because it protects from AIDS.
if i was a girl i wouldnt be on birth control.
Just expect an initial breakout about 3 weeks to a month after stopping birthcontrol as your body tries to readjust the hormone levels in your body. This is what happened to me when I finally wised up and got off that crap. Just bare through it. Luckily, on our clean lifestyle the body has the chance to do this effectively! :) Goodluck to you!
you should definitely stay off it for many reasons. i am speaking from experienc. your symptoms will fade, give it time, maybe a long time... it is sooo bad for you. pm me if you want any more personal info :)
