This is definately an off topic conversation.
Just wanting to be more o-natural and thought I'd see what all of the 811ers use for deodorant?
I'm wanting something more natural.
Also, When I shave, I ALWAYS get little pimples under my arms that look and feel gross...anyone have any advice???
My husband uses this and likes it o.k. I think it helps with the smell. He would prefer an anti-perspirant, but those things are super-toxic.
Okay...so I am very new here, but long before we changed our diets my husband and I got rid of cleaning supplies and body products. I don't use deodorant of any kind very often. But sometimes you just want to make sure you don't smell bad. For those cases I make my own deodorant.
Mix water with some cornstarch and then add a little baking soda to it. How much you make is based on how large your bottle is. I always have way more than what fits in my little spray bottle. I usually start with 1/2 cup of water and add a teaspoon of cornstarch and 1/2 a teaspoon of baking soda and then a little more cornstarch to help thicken it up a little. Add a few drops of tea tree oil and any essential oils that you want for a pleasant smell (it's a good idea to know that your essential oil of choice is safe). Mix well. Put it in a spray bottle. Shake before using and away you go.
I don't use deodorant. If you work out and shower consistently, and eat clean 811rv, you shouldn't need it.
I use nothing! Woo!
Shaving less may help the bumps...
I hardly shave...
cool, now I have not thought of that...I do use lemon sometimes on special occasions.
I haven't used deodorant for a few years now..... I just wash with water if I need.
From a man's point of view - I believe that the main reasoning to this is body hair, as the perspiration dry's on the hair - besides the potential obvious if one carries excess body fat (excess bf being a common cause of excessive perspiration - unless they medically have over active glands or something..), or even drugs, etc. I do trim so, I think this is the reason why I keep so "fresh" I suppose. Plus I have very low BF and keep healthy.
It is nteresting to read all of the alternatives, advice and experiences though.
exfoliate under your arms or use a scrubby because this area is always protected
adding coconut oil helps with both under arm pimples & odour because its anti bacterial
you can also shave using coconut oil
hope this helps
