After years of loyal service, the blade assembly in my commercial model Vita Prep 3 locked up.
I'm looking either to replace it individually or just purchase a whole new canister. The motor is still strong.
Am I correct that a standard vmix coupling like on the 5200 model is different than the commercial Prep?
Any thoughts on how I can best repair/replace my blender baby for a reasonable price are appreciated :)
Fix it for $26 by buying an Oster with glass carafe.
That's my backup unit I'm using right now.
It's no VM, but it still works pretty good, considering the price.
Is it still within its guarantee, because if so you should be able to call Vitamix and have them send you a new blade assembly that you can replace it with. Otherwise from a site such as this: http://www.everythingkitchens.com/vita-mix-vita-prep-3-parts-and-ac... you can buy suitable replacement parts, either just the blade assembly or a new container as well.
No, it's out of coverage by now, but thanks for the link :)
