So today my family gave me a bunch of stuff amongst which was a pack of SALICORNIA (also known as sea beans, glasswort, pickleweed, and marsh samphire), it's a green vegetable, I tasted and it tasted like pure salt!!
I went to check online for it's sodium content and it says that it has 70mg of sodium per 75grams of the weed, but I wonder if that is right?? Anyone has any info on this plant??
It tastes to me like to much sodium but I want to hear opinions!
Note: this is a plant that grows close to the ocean and feeds on it's water to live, unlike regular plants which can't take any salt water in them. Hence the reason for the salty taste.

I'd love to hear some more on this, too. Dave Klein and various 811ers here on Maui swear by it. They call it sea asparagus.n Damn tastey but too good to be true?
Seems like we're still waiting to know! ;)
I hear you!
