30 Bananas a Day!

OK, so I am new to the Fruitarian movement and I have been watching ALOT of videos: NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is talking about what to do with all the waste. Fruit produces alot of inedible waste. I did spy a pic from Durianrider.com of a FRUITDUMP (Hilarious, I might add) all that was missing were seagulls. Can somebody help me out? The idea of tons of peels, rinds, skins, husks just seems over-whelm-ing.

thanks in advance

In my city you can get a compost bin and they come pick it up with the trash & recycling.

Great Idea. What city are you in?

Well, a lot of people here have compost piles in their garden where it decomposes after some time and you can use the ground for gardening etc. Some people say that exotic fruits aren't good for that. I don't know, I don't have one, so I never really read into that. I live in an appartment and here in Germany waste rules are pretty strict (who would have thought lol). There's a garbage container for everything, we have to seperate strictly to save money. So every two weeks the litter service takes the biowaste and it gets recycled/decomposed..

Yeah if you are interested in gardening or already have a garden everything you mentioned is great for a compost pile. Yesterday I juiced the rind of a watermelon and got tons of juice. We have a compost bucket right next to the sink we fill up everyday and at the end of the day take it out back behind the shed and dump add it all to the collection. Really to make the most of them is to create a compost pile/bin outside. Make it a good distance away from any activity as after some time it will create quite a horrid stench but extremely good to add to soil when the time comes.

This is a video my friend Erin made about what to do with them.  GOod luck!

here in new york city the   city takes compost from people who are willing to bring it to a farmers market

i use  buckets put it freezer as it fills to keep smell under control until saturday when i wheel my peels with a large  old mans cart to the farmers market   kinda cool see what was eaten in a week as a review of good things we are all up to   its a great reminder  and its a rainbow

most folks   bring a tiny bin of scraps    i must have 40-200 times that amount    :  )

Oh man, keeping it in the freezer is such a good idea! Thanks!

If home composting isn't an option, dig a hole in a park, dump in compost, replace sod.
