30 Bananas a Day!

Does 30 bad recommend white rice? I am currently 100% on fruit at the moment. If so can it be eaten the same way as fruit (as much as you desire). I noticed that DR touched on the subject in one of his vids (something about if he was in jail he would eat rice quite happily).

Any thoughts and/or experiences on the subject would be cool!

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I am happy eating fruit all day. Im glad to hear that I have the option there if I desire it. I take it will be consumed the same way as fruit? As much as I desire until I am full?
Wait-- you are not eating any greens???
I eat some. My body is not craving them just now. I feel i would be forcing them down. I have no problems eating them when i feel like them.

Thanks for your good advice. I have not read 80/10/10 but watched as much of Doug Graham as I can on the internet. Would be something I will be buying in the near future.

I live in Scotland and the fruit quality here is really low. We are a nation of bad eaters so decent organic fruit is very hard to find especially at a good price. I do my best though and prioritise my finances on my food. I like the appeal of rice as it is so cheap which will allow me to free up some cash to buy better fruit. I guess the Japanese are doing something right!

Eating lower quality or conventional fruit would be far better than eating anything cooked.

Keano, more good informational reading if you haven't yet,  http://foodnsport.com/blog.php and All aboard the Banana Welcome Wagon!  which will eventually link you to foodnsport.  A good few hours of good reading there! :)

Thanks very much for your help. I will check out the link.

I was in Scotland in June of last year, no problem with fruit. You guys have some great deals on fruit if you look around - and you sell fruit everywhere, even in little corner markets!! I really enjoyed the strawberries- very sweet, although strangely pale in color.

Rice is a waste of your calories. It'd be liking buying fortified soda because its high in carbs and cheap. You're better off buying bananas, which actually have some nutrients.

I must admit our berries are good. We are famous for raspberries and export a lot of them worldwide. I struggle to get decent high calorie fruit such as mangos and dates which are staples.
Thanks for your response.

Keano,

Rice would be an emergency food if nothing was available.  If I was in  jail, I might eat bread and water if given to me for short term survival.

However, rice just does not have enough of the vitamins and minerals we need for optimum health.

In the 80-10-10 book, chapter 1 page 20 USA version, Dr. Graham explains why grains are not the prime food for humans, but rather bird food.

In there natural forms, humans would not be able to ingest and or digest properly grains.

If you have access to whole fresh raw fruits n greens, then eat those, and do not worry about emergencies until they are truly here.

Peace, PK

Thanks PK. Thats a really good way to look at it. I never thought about the natural uneatable state of these things before now. Makes sense! Cheers.

Keano,

You are welcome.  I like to ask myself what would I eat if I were marooned in nature for an extended period of time with no stove, microwave, refrigerator, and big utensils.

Peace, PK
