I break out really badly when I eat either corn or wheat. I haven't figured out if it's all grains in general or just those two. Also I don't know if it's just a matter of the body getting accustomed to eating those foods or if those foods will always cause that same reaction when eaten. I guess every person is different though. I hope you figure out what works for your body :)
As handy as starches can be and sometimes essential for meeting caloric needs, they are 2nd best to fresh fruit.
We all have different sensitivities, and for some, skin can be an issue with starches, though which ones if any can vary.

I had a similar experience; fully raw for a month and then raw till 4 for two or three months, then I fell off the wagon back into vegan SAD for a few weeks because I wasn't getting enough calories. I've been raw till 4 just to get back on my feet, as I've really struggled with eating enough fruit. Now that I'm getting comfortable eating as much fruit as I want, I find I don't need to rely on the cooked food (rice or rice noodles) at the end of the day to get my calories in. As I've worked up to more and more all raw days my remaining acne seems to be clearing up and I tan really nicely as well. Hope this helps :)
