How long does it take to recover from falling off the wagon?
I've been HCV (not raw-I eat rice/potatoes at night) for about 2 months now, and its been great. My body became more sculpted, allergies went away, skin looked great... ect.
Then I went on vacation for 1 week and decided to test how going back to eating SAD would affect me. Yeah.... well it did. The first few days I managed to stay vegan. Towards the end though... oh dear. Additionally, due to jet lag/busy schedule, I wasn't able to sleep more than 8 hours a night nor drink a ton of water.
I got back and immediately returned to being HCV- I missed fruit!- but now I weigh about 6lbs more, am having severe allergies, bad skin, and bloat. I realize that it may take a couple days for this to go away (and some could just be travel stress), but I wanted to know if anyone else went through a similar situation and how long it took for them to once again reap the benefits of HCV. Especially the allergies, I feel like my head is going to explode from mucus! Also, should I do some sort of cleanse (as in eat only bananas or something) or should I just jump back into my normal HCV meals?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
I have also fallen off the wagon in the past so I understand that it can be frustrating. Mono-fruit island sounds like an excellent idea. But remember, Freelea warns about the dangers of flip-flopping between the two diets because it can actually cause more bloating. Good luck to you! :)
Also, as far as benefits go, Fullyrawkristina says it takes approximately seven years to fully detox your body. That kind of motivates me to think to start thinking about this lifestyle for the long-term.
I just have to roll with the punches. I keep on falling off the wagon too but I wake up the next day, forgive myself, and do my best once again. It teaches us to have patience, inner peace, and learn to respect ourselves despite being imperfect humans.
You aren't alone :)
