30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone, do you think eating raw in the morning and the cooked from lunch onwards would have negative side effects? Personally eating more raw doesn't give me more "energy" and so far I've had no positive experiences on raw till 4 except weight gain (5kg). But I do admit I strayed from rawtill4 and ate a bit more cooked on days when I was low on fruit. I stick to 2000 calories and I'm 5'1.

Okay thanks so much :-) I just worry about negative effects since I'm not exactly doing rawtill4 OR starch solution!
I LOVE YOUR RESPONSE! I feel so much better now. I guess the main thing is just to eat high carb low fat vegan and not worry about the rest. Your food sounds yummy :-) It is fun to be more relaxed with my eating. I feel like I'm getting too food obsessed.

The only reason people do "raw till 4" is because they expect that the only meal you're eating after 4 is your last before bedtime. Since cooked foods digest slower than raw ones, they are trying to save you from poor digestion. If you were to eat cooked food, then fruit again, the fruit would get stuck behind the cooked meal and digest quickly, making you gassy, bloated, etc. Of course health wise since you are eating raw you will have all the same benefits as long as your raw foods outweigh the cooked ones. Listen to your body and do what works for you.

My raw foods don't outweigh the cooked :/ I tend to eat around 1000 calories from fruit on most days. If I start eating raw till 12 then only 700 or so calories would be from raw food! However I'll avoid eating raw after cooked so i don't get indigestion. Thanks so much :)

I experimented and I feel better eating fruit and simple sugars, but cooked food like potatoes is better than drinking pasteruzed juices till dinner, or even canned fruit. 

Also another think I noticed is that some cooked food, mainly potatoes or sweet potatoes, helps me to eat more raw foods. Sometimes I just don´t want bananas anymore, but by incorporating more variety, I can eat more bananas or dates. 

Mixing cooked and raw is not such a big issue for me, apart from more farting :D 

I find fruit during the day way better as it allows me to stay hydrated and more energised. I find having cooked food. The blood in your body rushes to your stomach to digest it. While with raw food or something non-fatty I don't feel slow or lethargic. 

I was eating cooked for lunch before there was RT4.  There is no indigestion from eating cooked in the middle of the day and then fruit.  If people have problems it's with the proximity to the meal or the type of fruit they are eating that makes them feel bad.  The biggest problem of the weight gain in RT4 is the sodium intake - 1000mg is too much for most people.  I ate up to 6500 cal with cooked, gained 10+ until I took out the salt - dropped the weight slowly until I could get more fruit and then it just melted off quickly!  If you need/crave salt, eat celery or tomatoes.  The longer you go without the added salt, the more aware you are to how it effects your energy.  My family eats a cooked vegan meal and just wants to go to bed...so I eat banana ice cream and double my workload to help.  When I was eating alot of cooked, we couldn't get any fruit (dead of winter/small town).  Hope something of my babblings helped.  Keep going - you'll do just fine!  Don't get a phobia of cooked during the day or many calories - you need food, it's your fuel! :)

Thanks so much, you did help! I don't think I consume much salt maybe some soy sauce in my vegetable stew and stir fried rice noodles and curry which I eat once a week. So 3 meals with added sodium. Do you think I should cut down haha.

You may be like me and not need as much sodium.  If you are gaining weight with cooked, then try dropping the added salt.  It won't hurt you, just your palate's desires.  It's really hard, I know, but if you just try less and less (if you can't just go cold turkey) then you should see a difference in several areas.  I hope this works for you and you see progress!  Don't forget to drink plenty of water/liquids.  :)
