I came across some packaged raw sugar cane at the store today and have been devouring it..Its so sugary sweet and and delicious. Im not sure if this is such a good idea, so I figured I would eat as much as I could stomach(not really)Than ask if this was a recommended practice.
I've seen DR put cane sugar juice in his banana smoothie. Should be okay.
Cool thanks man
Just chew it and enjoy, and have fun ;-)
This is perfect Stephane! Thank you so much!
Good info..thanks man
Matt, are you talking from cane sugar ?
In the video they juicing the cane, thats some different than crystalled cane sugar.
You really mean fresh sugar juice canes ?
Never saw it to buy
Yeah...they are packaged with like 15 1 inch stocks of raw sugar cane...they were in the produce section in the 99 cent only store....theyre sooo good
May I ask why you are wanting to eat it?
One time someone asked me if I ever eat honey and I thought to myself, "What would I use honey for?" I mean, putting honey on watermelon, bananas, or dates would be overkill and putting it on non-sweet foods like pistachios or okra would only take away from the natural flavors that they provide.
You said that the sugar is delicious, but is there any other reason that you want to keep it in your diet? Is it because it's a good calorie source? Is it because it's inexpensive?
Either way I imagine that dates would be a better option.
I have plenty of dates right now, and bananas too Jared..Its not a craving thing, I eat like 4000 calories a day. I just saw that they were selling raw cane and it peaked my interest. And it was very tasty. I definitely wouldn't make it a staple because it does bug my teeth a bit. Do you actually eat raw okra?
Any way I want to tell you that my wife and I were very intrigued last night by the pictures of you digging...whats that all about anyway? Was it for fun..do you still dig like that?
Hi Matt, I explain why I did all that digging at the very bottom of the page of this link...
Ok, thank you for going into more detail about the sugar cane. I am lucky, I recently started staying at a place in Costa Rica that has a lot of sugar cane plants and there is also a sugar cane mill on the property as well and there have been many days when I made about 2 liters of fresh sugar cane juice for lunch. Are the sugar packs that you buy called "Sugar In The Raw"? I remember trying that about 8 years ago when I first started wanting to eat more healthy and I really enjoyed it.
Oh, I absolutely LOVE raw okra. I used to bring a bag of it to work and eat it as a snack. It has a very slimy texture, (WARNING: Don't try to eat more than one at a time or you may be overwhelmed by it.) but it tastes like bread to me and I don't know, when I'm not craving something sweet and I just want something "different" it's fun to eat.
