30 Bananas a Day!

Race for the Cure (?)--can you help me articulate something?

I am opposed to supporting the American Cancer Society and the Komen Foundation, but I having openly spoken out about it because I'm not good at articulating my reasons and today is race day in Little Rock.

I am opposed because 1.)  I believe that conventional cancer therpy is absolutely wrong and sits on a false foundation.  2.) I believe that they know that it is wrong.  3.) They make it illegal for doctors and non-doctors to administer alternative treatments.  4.)  They are using the big bucks they make from us to manipulate science and our beliefs and fears so that we will be afraid to seek alternative therapy.  5.) They promote poor diet by telling cancer patients not to eat fruit and by serving hot dogs at funding events, therby creating more cancer and more profit.  5.)  running in these races creates more profit for them so they can gain even more power over us.

People think they are heros by running in these races, while those at the top of the industry are laughing their asses off.  It's sick.

So, can anyone help me articulate this further, or perhaps send me to websites that can help?

Thank You!

seems to be from a slightly more mainstream perspective, but useful nonetheless. You know, you mention "those at the top of the industry are laughing". This is true, but also I wouldn't doubt that many actually completely believe in their own work.

Yeah, I think a lot of them do believe in their own work.  Now everyone is evil, but a lot of people are severely miseducated.  Thank you for the links!  : )
Haha, I meant NOT everyone is evil.  : )
Yes!  And there are so many layers to it.  That's what makes it difficult for me to articulate.  Incompetent and gullible is right, because it only takes a bit of digging under the surface to see that something is off base.  You'd think that if they are dedicating their lives to something that they'd do a little investigating.  Unless of course what they may find would cut into their profits.

totally agree with you.

Ahahhahha!  I'd smoke before I'd eat a hot dog though.  : D
On a daily basis you participate (and likely promote) a lifestyle that would eliminate the vast majority of common cancers. That might be much easier to explain. Why walk for a cure when you live to eradicate?
I so so so completely feel the exact same way. It makes me so angry, and i feel so utterly wordless when i try to explain it, even to others who are "conscious eaters." i feel like everyone around me is dropping like flies because of the disease and i can't SAY anything. it's weird how i feel like i am talking about an elephant in the room when i bring up diet cancer cures. people would literally rather die than change their diet.

great topic! I believe a documentry came out about this about how they took the ribbon and made profit off of it and it was never meant to be used that way. I find it hard as well to talk about as well. I have a relative that is really close with me and I started to talking to her about this over a year ago and she didnt listen to me and developed breast cancer about 4 months after I left and went through chemo and everything when I went to visit her over Christmas she was sitting there with her bandana on drinking a diet coke and making hot dogs for lunch for her family...it saddened me so much but also made me so angry, with everything that I post and talk about she went and took a route with not even looking into anything and continued that very same life style that got her there in the first place and watching her do it to her daughters really upset me..but I feel like I'm not allowed to say anything. Its fustrating
