Whey is an animal product (derived from dairy products) and therefore not a part of an 811 HCRV lifestyle and not condoned by either 30BAD or Dr. G. Why drink a protein shake when you could just drink a banana smoothie? Why replace a meal? Your body needs the calories. It is entirely possible to get sufficient protein from fruit and leafy greens if you are eating enough calories. May I ask why you are looking to drink this?

oh geez...than i got the wrong information from this thin girl she told me whey is from barley..ok thank you for letting me know....

so set aside if i just eat fruits like bananas, strawberries, apples, lettuce , etc btw how do i make the banana smoothie ?

I think Hakkron gave some good links, follow those and click through and read and you'll get a pretty good "lay of the land" and some valuable information. 

Here are some things to think about:

1 - Protein - You do not need all the protein that conventional "health wisdom" says you do. Calorie for calorie, greens are a great source of protein. What your body really needs are amino acids, those are what it breaks protein down into, in order to utilize. Amino acids are found in great amounts, per calorie in fruits and veggies.

2 - Meal replacement of protein shakes are from the "old school of thought" about loosing weight. This is not what 30BAD is about. It's not about loosing weight, it's about gaining health, although if you follow it and have weight to loose, you will. 

Do read through those links people have provided, click around in the links in them too and you'll get a lot of the information to get started. Definately get a cpy of the 80/10/10 diet by Doug Graham to read asap, it will really help spell things out for you.

Huh? Think you've got the wrong forum. 

The whole premise of this website is that the key to health is helathful living. Skipping meals and replacing them with protein is not healthful living. It is compensating for unhealthy living. Your body needs food - nutrients - not powder in a glass.

Of course you can do whatever you want, but then you are totally missing the point of this website. You can't get enough calories from fruit by skipping meals, and you cant get the majority of calories from carbohydrates by consuming protein shakes.
