So I need more information on this. It's the first I'm hearing about it. People are saying that if you eat meat you can get parasites and they will control your emotions? So I get that meat can have parasites, just like any other animal. Generally they are treated for it with medicine. And if they do happen to have the parasite when they end up in the grocery store, according to this article (that was posted to my previous inquiry):
They can be easily prevented by proper hygeine (washing hands after handling raw pork) and thorough cooking. So how do I get my BF to be motivated to not eat meat by telling him it can give him a parasite when it is so easy to prevent infection? Am I missing some key data here?
Also, I'm not seeing any information that backs up the claims that intestinal parasites can impact your emotions.
Any input would be great.
Personally I find heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and impotence to be much more threatening...
agreed. But with his health (less than 9% body fat, great HDL and LDL numbers and blood pressure numbers, and no history of cancer in the family) he's not motivated by those factors. And at his age, impotence really isn't a concern yet.
At college my friend and I got most of our buddies to become vegetarian just by eating around them. People would notice that we aren't eating the meat and when asked about it, we wouldn't really say much just that its what we like to eat. I try to even pretend that I don't even know about the problems with eating meat people know them and just don't admit it. I just show that its easily doable.

How anyone could tuck into a steak after watching this?
