I am having a hard time finding organic young thai coconuts anywhere in my town. I have been eating 100% organic for the past few years, and I don't want to compromise my health by going back to conventional produce... So, I am wondering how important is it to buy organic young thai coconuts? How much of the pesticides can get past the shell? Is it safe to eat conventional coconuts?
Thanks so much!! I will definitely avoid the conventional ones then... My mom's side of the family is from Hawaii, and I still have some family there, including my sister who lives on Oahu... Maybe I will just need to take a trip to see her and feast on fresh coconuts :)
Good idea Emmy, I read a little while back that most of the thai baby coconuts you find in supermarkets have been dipped on formaldehyde to preserve them, you definitely don't want that stuff in your body ;)
