30 Bananas a Day!

IMPORTANT NOTE:

PLEASE ONLY POST HERE IF YOU ARE JOINING THIS GROUP TO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES EATING NOTHING BUT ORANGES AND CUCUMBERS FOR A 10 DAY PERIOD (OCTOBER 22ND TO OCTOBER 31ST).

Please keep your posts to the point, summerize your writing so that it stays within a reasonable amount of text.    

 

This is a supportive discussion to help each of us stick to the 10 day challenge:
If you drop out please do not talk about it until the 10 day period is over.  The rest of us want to stay motivated to continue.

He eats mono even at dinner almost everyday? I already did that several times, even more if eating celery or veggie fruits, but everyday must be hard.
Day 9.
Slept 9 hours. I'm not sure how many oranges I ate today, but guessing around 25. Also had 3 cucumbers.
Only exercise was an hour of chasing the soccer ball with my daughters. Good sunshine today and yesterday.

I'm looking forward to Friday. Not so much because I'll be past 10 days, but because I'm going for an early morning run with friend who is a pretty talented ultra-marathon runner. Even though he will be racing a trail marathon on Saturday, I'll still have to move along to run with him at his day-before-a-race pace. That should be a pretty good indicator of my fitness, even though I've significantly reduced my miles for the past 6 weeks. I'll report how that goes and hopefully have some good pictures of the trails around Portland, Oregon.
I don't have enough to go for 10 days but I just bought me some super organic navels about 48 lbs and 20 somewhat lbs of some quality cukes. Gonna be eating this until my honeydews, bananas, mangos and hachiyas ripen. Oranges+cukes = low-fat, high energy, water-dense goodness.
A few days late on my Day 10 report...
I really enjoyed oranges for 10 days. No BS. They've always been a favorite of mine, but I had never eaten more than 6 or so at time. During this 10 days, I only drank OJ twice. I for sure like OJ in my bottle when running, but not as much for meals. Usually, I'd sit down with about 10 oranges cut into quarters. That was good for a sitting, and I didn't eat more than 30 in any day. I prefer to eat my oranges. They just seem sweeter to me when I eat them. The cucumbers were a great addition to the oranges. I tried to eat a few cucumbers after every orange meal. I liked they way the cucumbers almost worked like a toothbrush wiping away the orange residue.

I'll do this again. As soon as I ramp up my running mileage, I'll get on the OJ kick again. Right now, the melons are really good, and we have shelves full of ripening persimmons.

If you're going to do something like this, just make sure you eat enough. Figure out what enough is, and eat that much. Don't try to eat to a predetermined amount. You need to be able to recognize the signals from your body. It's telling you either "feed me more", "you fed me too much", or "that was perfect". Learn to understand that, and you'll be fine.

Anybody up for doing an encore? I will start tomorrow. I would love love love love love love love love to have someone join me.
