Just saw this article on the website for UK tabloid The Daily Fail Mail.
What do you think about it?
I reckon junk food Veganism is doing the movement a gross disservice. People will point at unhealthy Vegans and say "See! Veganism is unhealthy!" Not good. Stuff like this just motivates me even more to be a shining living example.
dude, it the daily mail!! what did you think it would have in..NEWS??!!!!....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eBT6OSr1TI
Lol, that song was ace!!!
i agree - there is a huge difference between healty vegan food and the standard vegan junk food diet and again i 2 x agree - tons of motivate to be a good example - she the witch chomping on a banana.
BTW - i dont believe he is healthy as a animal consumer - id dont care what the pics say - i know the medical truth.
My lifelong friend was a vegan for years & years - and became so unhealthy she nearly died from it at a young age. She admits now she ate nothing but junk food.
Vegan should mean more than just what you take OUT of your diet. Maybe we need to invent a new word that describes what's IN our diets.
I like Fuhrman's "Nutritarian". At the very least people say "you're a what?" and don't have a pre-disposed notion about what it means, and you can explain.
Yup. It's not enough to avoid animal products to be healthy. Munching non-animal-including crap all day long will put you in just as bad of a place as munching on animal-including crap all day long. Being "vegan" doesn't automatically make someone "healthy" and I find it absurd that anyone would think that health = avoid certain foods.
It's health = eating many certain foods.
Thanks for posting this, Richie. Intersting how every way of thinking about nutrition describes itself as rogue, and apparently opposes what we've been taught by the medical authorities.
