Hey Varuka! I began this way of eating and I am obese. I have lost 33 pounds of fat so far eating as much fruit as I can and leafy greens when I feel like it. When I first started ( a few months ago ) I just went right ahead and jumped in. It was very hard not to give into the cravings because I wanted to eat all of those foods I wanted no matter how much I ate. I decided that every time I was craving something that I should not be eating then I would just grab more fruit and chow down some more. I have quit smoking a few years back and can definitely line it up with the same difficulty level. Another thing to remember is that you are the only one that can feed yourself the right or wrong foods. If for some reason you fall off, do not get sad. Just get right back on. Not tomorrow, and not next week, get back on right away.
Also, a couple of health issues I had before were diabetes, indigestion, acid reflux, and extreme fatigue. All of that was gone within 3 weeks.
Wow! I'm dealing with uncontrollable diabetes right now. I'm on so many medications it's ridiculous.
I can understand that. You will be off of your meds in no time. This is the way out of that craziness. When you add fat and sugar, you get diabetes. High fat that is either natural in a food or added to a food has no place comfortably in the human body. Sugar from fruit or plants is exactly what your body wants and needs. I swear, you will thrive on this lifestyle. I am still obese and have a lifetime of commitment here but I will never give up for any reason. You can do it too when you are ready.
Thanks for the pep talk I needed that. :) It's nice to know I'm not the only one who has or is starting out like this.
