I am 15, around 5'3. Not sure about my weight, because I don't own a scale, but estimating around 120.
I normally don't have time for breakfast, but when I do, it is usually a small banana + peanut butter smoothie or an apple. I know, I should be eating way more for breakfast, but it is hard enough to get just that. At lunch, I have salad. For dinner, I either have rice, pasta, veggie burger, things like that. I also eat bread and beans, and nuts.
What I cannot figure out is why I feel crappy a great deal of the time. I just don't feel strong, lively, or energetic as I know I should be. I also have joint pain in my knees, and my nose is stuffy 90% of the time. I have poor circulation and my feet are always cold. I sweat when I am not even doing anything, and my pit stains are embarrassing. I sleep just fine, though, although I'm not getting enough. I probably get around (average) of 6 or 7 hours a night.
I also just keep gaining fat ever since cross country ended. I had my first period in July but it has not come back since, and I am starting to worry.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks! *I am not raw, so I posted this in 'off topic chat'
"What I cannot figure out is why I feel crappy a great deal of the time."
Way too little raw, ALIVE foods.
"nose is stuffy 90% of the time."
Get rid of the mucous. Oranges, grapes, lemon juice...eliminating rice and or cooked food will help.
"I have poor circulation" and my feet are always cold"
More iron. Romaine lettuce for example
" I sweat when I am not even doing anything"
Hormone regulation problem. More raw!!!
Are you exercising?
Thank you so much! That was exactly what I was looking for! I exercise a little every day, from gym class to cheerleading practice, yes. But we don't do a whole lot in cheerleading so I'm not sure how much that counts.
I see! okay, I will try to do that. What about spinach? I read somewhere on here that it wasn't good, but the romaine lettuce here is always bitter (organic, no less!) and I can barely stomach it.
you eat severely too little as far as i can see.. also don't combine banana with peanut butter.. don't add fat to fruit, especially sweet fruit. (unless you want to fart everyone out of the house)
I don't eat nearly enough, you're right, because at the end of the day I find myself starving. It is so hard having time to not only eat but prepare the food as well. And I will stop eating banana and peanut butter!
Eat more carbs. You aren't eating nearly enough and a large portion of your calories are coming from fat. That's a setup that will lead to bonking everyday. Have a minimum of 800 calories from sweet food for breakfast and lunch. If you still want a salad with lunch then have that after the fruit.
You need way more sleep, especially at age 15. Go to bed early, if you are eating enough during the day you will sleep like a log.
Dairy is definitely the main cause for most people congestion but peanut butter can clog up the lymphatic system too.
Thanks so much! It is basically impossible to get to bed early with all the homework I have, and 2.5 hours of cheerleading. I'm not exaggerating here, most nights my homework doesn't fit in my backpack. I'm either up late completing it, or I have to get up at 5 to finish - I usually fall asleep doing it. But enough complaining. ;) Thank you for the advice. I have to break away from the peanut butter
I know you can do it. I didn't do any homework at home my whole senior year of high school. I just used time in school really efficiently. I also had cross country from 3-5 and worked from 5-9. Yet I still managed to get to bed by 10. Back then I really needed it too and would feel crappy and tired if I got less than 8 hours a few nights in a row.
Thank you!! and I wish I could make daily smoothies with like 12 bananas, but my mom is a single mom; I have a job but it is only in the summer, so I normally am able to eat well in the summer and then during the school year I find myself eating the processed food. Rice is really cheap though, so I can't use that as an excuse for everything. Someone said rice will clog my nose? :O
Find your local wholesaler and buy cases of bananas cheap. Buy dates on line from Shield's Date Garden. If you cannot swing fruit then eat a thousand calories of rice for breakfast lunch and dinner with a head or two of lettuce and a cup of beans a day. You'll be cutting the fat down and eating lots more calories and you will be feeling much much better right away!
Wow, I guess I never thought that fruit could be replaced with rice so easily, I always worried that I would get dehydrated or miss out on essential nutrients.
But that seems like a lot easier and better to do!
