Heres a stitch of my story, (please forgive for the long intro)
I was diagnosed with MS (booo!!) in 2008, and was told I needed all sorts of chemicals and steroids to keep me a going.
I decided to run (quickly) away from modern medicine and instead try some natural(ish) ideas and the like.
I started by taking vit suppliments and eating "better".
Well, over the last two years my eating "better" has grown from eating more veggies, to no red meat, to no nitrates, to no meat at all, to avoiding this and that, yada yada.
I have found that eating the most low fat (particularly helpful for persons with MS, figured out by a Dr. Swank) vegan raw lifestyle has almost completely rid me of my symptoms.
Now here's the little obstical... Hrmm.. I have some friends see, and we really don't converse all that much anymore because of what I am apparently "doing to myself." They tell me through mouthfuls of french fries and greasy hamburgers that I am killing myself, and refuse to look at ANY stastical data.
They think I need to march down the the Dr. right now and get me some cortisteroids for my veins.
Have you ever encountered resistance from friends? I really don't have any friends "like me" I guess.
They are the go out and party it up kinda friends, and I am more the lets go for a hike or play in the dirt and plant trees kinda friend.
I guess it's great to have a place like this where you can have online aquantances to share problems and the like with. :)
Sorry for my rant, just new to all of this, and kind of blown away that there really ARE more people like me in this world, and not everyone thinks of this lifestyle as crazy. :)
So, hi! I'm Clover, nice to meet you!
Do you have friends in real life that support you?
If your friends or family don't support you, what do you say/do?
