30 Bananas a Day!

Hi, my name is Ryan, I just happened upon this site while researching raw veganism. My wife and I have been slowly changing to a vegetarian diet and I really want to take the leap into Low Fat veganism. I have had weight issues my entire adult life. I topped out a few years ago at 320 lbs. I am 6 ft 1 in tall. I am currently around 275 lbs. I love cycling and have recently started to really get into it. I want to get as lean as I can. I have a couple problems though, I like to drink(alchohol). I also have terrible cravings in the evenings when im getting done with work for not only alchohol but just junk food, high fat, cheese laden mexican food and pizza mainly. Does anybody have experience kicking these habits? And what is the opinion here on 30bad about booze? Thanks all for helping me out!

booze is a no no, and i used to be a cheese junkie, and i loved ice cream a while back. I switched to eating the vegan alternatives to cheese and ice cream (almond milk ice cream). I then went HCRV cold turkey and thought i would miss cheese and chocolate and sweet things, i honestly dont crave them if i eat enough fruit, all i crave is fruit! Someone at my work was cutting up a pan of brownies, and i happily sipped my banana date smoothie. I also work at a restuarant that has everything from seafood, cheese encompassed pasta, burgers, desserts, and loads of alcohol. I get repulsed by smells of everything now. Especially cheese! I think it has to do with how i eat now and the fact that i know how horrible animal products are to ones body. I hope you get the book, because i am learning a lot, also look at the please read our notes section on the home page, especially the banana welcome wagon, this site has helped me loads, even before i had the book. :) p.s. one time on my journey i had to eat a vegan burrito, something i used to love, tasted horrible, and the whole time i was thinking I WANT BANANAS!! i talk all about my every day experiences in my blog as well, ive been blogging every day on here.

Increasing your calorie intake of carbs is the key to not having the intense cravings.  5800 calories is your minimum, add more for activity, load up on the good foods to get in those calories and you won't crave the high cal fat calories.

30BAD is a drug free site, booze is a narly drug.  The more factors of health you get in place the easier the unhealthy stuff will fall away.

I had a major cheese habit for several years.  We would eat pizza at least 2 times a week.  Also I would just melt some cheese in the microwave and eat it everyday.  It was insane.  But as the old saying goes, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired all the time.  I started researching about nutrition and eventually I found out about raw foods and somehow landed here.  I've only been doing this for about a month, but I am not looking back.  After just a couple days of eating raw fruits and salads I lost all my cravings and in fact now my old favorite foods disgust me.  I feel so much better now and I've already lost 16 pounds.  My only problem now is this website is so addicting that I can easily sit here and read all morning!  Haha!!  Ok time for me to get off the computer and go for a long walk.  :)
Sooo, got our first real day in. I ordered the 80-10-10 book. Really weird when 4-5 pm came around and my usual booze/pizza/taco/cheese cravings normally hit, nothing.. Really nothing short of a miracle. And 930 ish and im ready to go to bed? Almost never go to bed this early. Usually 1100 to midnight minimum. I am impressed and cant wait to see what tommorow brings! Thank you everyone and especially Dorian and Freelee, My wife is on board and has been wearing out youtube checking out your videos!
