Hey there, I'm so glad you like my blog! I know, I am so surprised that anyone on here is from Louisiana much less right close to me!
I started transitioning to 811 at the very end of 2009. So I've been working towards it for a little more than 2 years. In those 2 years I've had a couple months at a time when I was 100% then go a little off/on etc. In the past several months I've really gotten it down pat - buying enough fruit, getting my ripening routine down, etc. What about you?
I am in Baton Rouge twice a week and buy 2 cases of bananas from Whole Foods per week. I also pick up a couple other fruits that look good and are on sale. I also get some things from Fresh Market, Sandra's, and ocassionally drug emporium if their stuff looks good which a lot of times it doesn't. You are right - good produce is expensive, but that is one of my only expenses. I try to live very simply so that I have enough money for good food without having to work too much. :) However, I don't go to the movies, I don't drink, I don't buy clothes or shoes often so all of that saves a lot of money that I can use to buy good food.
How did you hear about 811? I'm always so curious to know when I meet someone around here!
