30 Bananas a Day!

New to the diet, hi all! oh and a question about B12

Hi guys,

My story is a regular diet, about a year ago I read the book "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" that got me thinking about what put in my mouth. For some time I managed to eat a good diet, vegetarian diet that is and I felt better physically and mentally than I had in ... well, probably forever. Somewhere over the winter I fell off the health train and reverted to SAD eating habit. At the end of march I bumped into a blog post about this guys living off bananas and winning marathon races. This in turn led me to the 80-10-10 diet.

Long story short, my self induced personal challenge is to eat a raw vegan diet for the duration of April at least, meaning I'm on day three now. I am blogging about my experience at barefootnick.com (yeah, I run barefoot by the way).
My concerns are about cost, time spent eating and still managing to get work done!

Also, while not concerned about it currently, should I be concerned about vitamin B12? And while I see it can be a challenge plus there seems to be quite a few opinions. I stumbled on the low heat dried seaweed "dulse" which seems to have plenty of B12. Is this not an accepted food?

Although I'm new to this diet I think it makes simple sense plus I wake up feeling pretty darn good, sleep well and feel better throughout the day. With only a few days in, this might be my expectations running the show though.

Anyone pulling this off in South Dakota? Fruit isn't exactly ripe around here!

Welcome Nick! Nice to meet you :-)) I would do a search on the b12 issue and you can make your own mind up, the community is pretty divided on that one!

We don't recommend you eat dulse here, its just a salty seafood, not necessary to attain optimal health.
