30 Bananas a Day!

New to 30 Bananas A Day and looking for motivation and advice:-)

Hi!

I have just started the high carb low fat vegan diet and I'm really loving how it's making me feel already! :-) BUT I'm finding it so hard to know how much of things to eat....I'm scared of eating too much but I think at times I am not eating enough because Iget hungry and have really bad cravings for something sweet.... Any advice about his or any help for a new member would be great! :-)

I wouldn't worry about eating too much. Under eating is what should be a concern. Just eat your fruit ripe and eat in abundance.
Thanks for the advice :-) I think I've always under eaten so eating so much seems strange but I guess I will get used to it over time.

Hi Katie,

            As fruit of life said the only danger is under eating especially when first beginning this lifestyle as it will lead to falling off the rails. Bananas are king they are full of fibre to fill you and sugar for these sweet cravings. Have a 10-15 banana smoothie for breakfast that will give you a good base to work from. It's best to start getting in the calories early so have breakfast early. Then basically eat every 3-4 and eat until you feel like your just about to vomit or can't eat anymore. Don't tell yourself your bloated on 2 bananas because you won't be. So carry on eating 10+ bananas or equal calories of other fruit for lunch. Bananas or dates are best staples because they are more calorie dense and give you a better idea of the calories your getting. Then same for dinner or cooked starches. Aim for all your meals to be over 1000 cals and your on to a winner! But never never go hungry to bed.

Thank you so much for this help and advice :-) I think the feeling of fullness and eating so much is what concerned me but from what everyone says, feeling really full is a good thing. It's all so new to me not going to bed hungry and not feeling hungry, I think that's why I have been scared to keep eating...but I will put into practice what you have said, it is really helpful and makes it clear what I need to do. Welcome to 30 BAD Katie (that's my daughters name too).

Eat as much sweet ripe fruit as you can for breakfast, lunch and dinner (with lettuce is the ideal) or have cooked at night.  Have you come across cronometer yet? I found it very helpful and will put your mind at rest as to whether you are getting enough calories. (cronometer.com)

 

Thank you for the welcome message :-) I really don't think I've been eating enough fruit from what people are saying... think I've been scared of overeating but it sounds like the only thing I need to worry about is under eating. I will definitely try to eat as much as I can for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No, I haven't heard of cronometer but I will download it for sure...sounds great from someone new to this lifestyle like me. Thank you so much for the advice :-)
