Hello, I've been a lurker for a couple of weeks now, but finally joined and figured I should introduce myself to everyone before I begin my transition period on October 15, along with my family. My sister, mother, and I are planning to try 80/10/10 for a month in hopes of tackling some health issues and dropping some pounds for a better quality of life. And if other people's stories are anything to go by, if we experience even a fraction of the improvements & perks that I've read about so far, I'll definitely be making the change permanent. I'm pretty excited, have some high hopes, and have even started a blog to serve as a progress journal to help me keep track of my experiences once we make the switch.
I hope to make good friends and look forward to the guidance of an enlightened and enthusiastic community whenever I have any questions along this journey, and I just want to say thanks for having me!
I'm from Georgia too, and I spend time there still periodically. There is a 80/10/10 friendly raw meet-up. There's nothing planned right now but I've been told there is going to be some Halloween action going on, so look out for that!!
Good luck :)
meetup? i will be joining!
Start RIGHT now. Not tomorrow, not the day after it. If you really see it as a improvement of your life you do it ASAP. If you do not see it that way it will never work for you and it will end up beeing just one more thing "I tried once". If you plan to try dont even bother. Just friendly advice. ")
Believe me, I would love to start tomorrow, but unfortunately having to do a little padding financially first, due to some unexpected plumbing bills, so the 15th is the earliest possible for us. I'm so excited though, I feel like I'm waiting on Santa or something, lol!
another Ga person here!
So glad to see other GA people!
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone, I really appreciate it, and attending a meetup sometime would be alot of fun : D
Just wanted to say hello :) I live in SC. I have been transitioning for about 4 months now. Luckily you have a meetup group in your area! Around here.. i'd settle for just knowing another Vegan! lol Good Luck! Tomorrow is "the" day right?!
Aww, thanks so much! Yes, tomorrow is the big day and I honestly feel like a little kid on Christmas eve, rolf. Gotta take pics of all the bananas in our kitchen right now, it's insane to me that there's 300 or so sitting in bins on our counters. I'm sure I'll get used to it, though, as it takes alot of nanners to feed 3 peope ; D
