I don't mean to complain or anything, I am loving eating mostly raw! I am trying to up my greens more and more, and tonight's salad is absolutely delicious - loving every bite. However, I have been chewing for 2.5 hours, with a couple tiny breaks for my jaw to recoup, lol. I used -about- 4 cups of spring mix, 3 cups of romaine, some mushrooms (I know, I know these are NOT recommended here.. sorry, I plan on letting the 'shrooms go sooner than later!), some chopped green onion (only the green parts), and lemon juice.
It's delicious, only my jaw is getting quite tired! I also usually blend a few generous handfuls of greens into my breakfast smoothies... perhaps I should up my smoothie intake!
So I'm looking for tips, but at the same time very curious - what's the longest you've taken to eat one salad? And what is normal for you now, 30 minutes? 1 hour? more?
it takes me about half an hour to an hour to eat a big salad. i only eat salad 2 or 3 times a week... i gotta eat more!
I'm having the same problem!! I'm pretty new to giant salads/giant meals in general, and I've been eating dinner for an hour and a half now with hardly a dent! I'm hoping this gets better with time hahah
I manage to chomp through my nightly salad in an hour. Maybe chop up your greens more?

I also started doing what John from okraw suggested, blending up all the veggies/fruit I want to have in my salad to make it into the dressing, so having pretty much only the greens to chew on. That helps quite a bit!
I have the opposite problem: I eat them too fast - when the ingredients are so fresh & delicious (:
Hahah! I know where you are coming from. It can take a long time sometimes not only to prepare (so much water everywhere with the collider lol) but also to eat. The fastest way to eat salads in my experience is just to throw them in whole and eat them as they are. I find this is a nice practice to do sometimes and makes you appreciate the wholesomeness of the green/vegetable.
For example. Throw in a bowl 4-5 carrots, one head of lettuce, pack of tiny tomatoes, half of cucumber and see the difference compared to chopping them up :)
