Hi everyone, I made the change to 811 last October and for the first 2 months was having great success with it. After that its been nothing but a struggle. I've been putting on weight which I know is not muscle due to me getting a gut. For most days I eat as much fruit as I can with a big salad at night. My problem is at night I always get hit with these major cravings for fat and salty foods which I'm guessing that means I'm not eating enough carbs during the day. I was just curious to what most of your guys and gals day look like eating and activity level. Also where you're getting your sources of fat and if you just eat fruit all day or throw in some veggies and what works best for you guys. If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
I would worry more about myself than other people.
There are many possible reasons for your cravings. I would start to monitor your total net daily calories.
Fat is in everything. You do not need to worry about it. Average calories from fat from fruit is 4% which is OK for human nutrition long term. You can top it up to 10% with some overts like avocados, durian, nuts, maybe olives ...
Thanks, I'm just wondering what other people eat so I can see if I'm moving in the right track or if I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks so much. All input is very helpful. Tomorrow I'm gonna go back to the basics when I first made the change and was having success and feeling awesome. Tomorrow I'm shooting for 35-40 bananas and plan on staying that way for a while to see if this helps any. As for vegetables and greens I'm gonna cut these down until my body tells me otherwise. I'm really gonna open up and listen to my body instead of worry about everything and try to get back to the basics and carb up. I was gonna take a fruitarian approach on this and see how I feel and slowly add different things in and see how my body acts to certain things. The only seed I might bring back is chia seeds. Nuts made me put on weight quick, same with avocados. Like I said I'm going back to the basics and stocked up on 120 lbs of bananas, 10 lbs of dates and 40-50 lbs of oranges and just gonna make banana smoothies and orange juice and some smoothies with dates and stay carbed up and slowly bring in greens if need be and see how my body reacts. I'll keep everyone posted and thanks for the help, its much appreciated.
