Hi everyone,Im new here and feeling a bit overwhelmed but excited at the same time.
I have had a food/weight issue since about 9 years old and have been dealing with that till now. I know there are lots of issues with food and emotions,just working on dealing with them and how they got me to this point. Lots of binge eating without the purge,and lots of closet eating. I heard Victoria from this site say in one of her youtube videos with her hubby Michael that "what you eat in private,you show the public". I had an "aha moment" when I heard that. I never eat in front of anyone and people always say,you eat like a bird..you should be a size 2,yadda yadda yadda. of course they dont see what was hiding in my drawers of my nightstand,etc
I decided to go raw about a year ago,and tried it for about a month and had good results,went to Maine to get a raw chef cert with Alissa Cohen and something always just didnt feel right,about what I was going to teach,or about what I was eating..all the "superfoods" and nuts and nama shoyu etc and the weight wasnt coming off anymore.
I bought 811 and it felt like wow this is it..but when I tried it ..it was really hard..Im sure for anyone it is hard..but I went from 0 to 100..eating ring dings one day to bananas and spinach the next..and I lasted 2 whole days. I felt horrible and like a failure but I knew the program was "right".
fast forward to today and Im back to Vegan but SAD and wanting to be 811 but get stuck. I start out great with my morning and afternoon meals,but dinner for some reason..when Im sitting at the table with my girls and hubby..I just want the chickpeas and boca chkn etc.
Please give me some on advice on how to do this with a little bit of ease at dinnertime with my "mainstream" family. they have really picked up on alot of the good behaviors I have found with raw but I need to lose 100 more pounds and I know 811 can be the lifestyle change I need.
Any suggestions on dinner style meals that fit 811 so while they eat their vegan meal I dont feel odd eating fruit. And what other fruits can I eat cheaply other than bananas all the time. I like them but dont LOVE them.
also when you are eating salads at night.what dressings are you putting on them,the ones like in 811 book-a blended red pepper and orange,like that?
I really am also just looking for advice to see if I should just jump back in overnight or do I need to do it slowly.I think I know the answer..jump in with both feet right?,lol
I look forward to getting to know you all better and for some advice for this newbie ready to shed some pounds and emotions along the way.
