I've attempted raw vegan twice within the last few months. Both times I haven't been very sucsesful in keeping to the diet and give up back to my mostley vegan diet.
am really motivated to try again but the last two previous times within the first 2\3 days i sufferd with mouth ulsers. Has any one else had this problem? Maybe I was doing something wrong !
Thanks for any advise in advance!!
Mouth ulcers are usually from eating unripe fruit, especially pineapple. They also can be a sign of detox or a temporary imbalance in the body. 2-3 days is not long enough to see benefits. Good luck!
That makes sense! I usually only get them if I bite my lip or cheek, but I ate unripe pineapple last week and now I know why I have one on my lower lip! But I agree with Greenmama, it is most likely unripe fruit or detox! They should go away within a few days anyways! Try and stick to it and see what happens.
Hi Nataly! This is interesting, I know I'm a couple of months behind time on this thread but I've been searching for answers on this. I've drastically increased my amounts of citrus fruits because they have antihistamine properties which are really helping with my hayfever and I'm reluctant to let this drop. For the first time in years my eyes are clear when I wake up in the morning, and I'm no longer waking in the middle of the night reaching for the eye drops.
However, I've developed mouth ulcers and wasn't sure why this was. Is there any way around this? Will high amounts of citrus always cause mouth ulcers? or will this decline over time? (This is the first time I've been raw vegan whilst suffering hayfever.. hence the very basic questions!)
I know juiced fruit isn't quite as beneficial as whole, but could you juice your citrus and drink with a straw? You might find you still get a lot of the antihistamine properties.
Unripe mango and mango skin can cause problems with ulcers.
I am having an Aphtae right now and it's pretty painful. It hurts when I eat Bananas... anyone heard something about that?
