Hey guys. So I'm in a little bit of distress. I am planning on joining the Navy (and by planning, I mean not just thought about it, I'm already in process: took ASVAB pre-test last week, did good, doing paper work, taking a real ASVAB test and having a physical next week). I wanted to know if there is anyone on this forum, who went through military, vegan or as close as possible, I would love some tips or anything to take my mind off the matter, because this lifestyle is really important to me, as you all can relate, but I have no idea if staying vegan would be possible in the military.
Any info or tips would be appreciated.
it is possible to be vegan in the military :) my husband is. basic training was the hardest for him. you can special order vegan boots. i have met a few other vegan/vegetarian soldiers so far they are not that many of them though.
Nice, although I am not so much worrying about the clothes as about the food. Yea, I am sure that boot camp isn't gonna be easy, but if I'll have options of vegan foods, even as simple as just potatoes and rice and vegetables, I'm happy. I guess I could ask my recruiter about this, I once mentioned that I eat vegan but I don't know how would they react to me wanting to stay vegan throughout the training
