The VT100 is one of the oldest ultra marathons around. Mike just won it. There was a strong field and the monkey man powered on fruit crushed em to win in 15:26.
A few days before Mike showed me his 'raw power bar'. Its a 1000cal hit of pitted dates vacum sealed in a compact block. Ive been eating them non stop since he showed me. They are only 2$ a pop.
Winning your first big ultra is the hardest one many say. I expect Mike will be dominating the ultra scene over the next 10 years now that he has proven himself that he can smash the fast guys over 100miles of rocks and mountains.
Now if only he can endure and survive marriage...lol kidding, kind of...Well, anyway, he is going strong right now and he is not showing any signs of fatigue or soreness...I remember back in the days when we first got married 13 years ago, Michael was limping after only running a half marathon at a slower pace eatinga strick vegan diet..he has evolved so much since eating all fruits and veggies in their natural state...I can definitely see a difference..I am very inspired with each and every time he recovers so quickly to eat more fresh fruits and veggies.
Well, off to hike 9 hours a day in the Canadian Rockies with the new champion of the VT 100! A few more steps closer to fruitarianism in the main stream...let's hear it for the fruit! Michael Arnstein is an ambassador for fruit and athletics more than ever before..the message is clear for athletes universally..EAT MORE FRUITS AND VEGGIES FOR THE BEST FUEL ON EARTH!!!
Give Mr. Mike a double high 5 for us, ok Vic?
We're all mucho proud of him! :)
Probably somewhere out in BX or Harlem figuring they're not too far from those areas.
If Mike bought these dates from a bodega in the hood in NYC, chances are you'd find it in other bodegas in the city. Just look in the refrigerated section. That's just how things run in NYC-- especially when the product is considered an "ethnic product" as per the packaging Harley shows us. You go to one bodega, you visit them all. I won't be surprised if I find one at the bodega closest to my family's apartment out in Brooklyn.
