Hey did anyone else have problems with the Outside link?? It works for me.
Works for me, Mike is a legend!
Wow- everbody on here should read this- what a great article- not too deep but really pinpoints the basic lines around some subjects.
I am surprised though that Mike thinks like this: "if eating a spit-roasted polar bear could help him achieve a 2:10 marathon time, he'd gladly chow down"
I might eat that too If I could run a 2:10 marathon, haha. Fortunately that's not the way nature was designed.
Haha, he single-handedly proved all those nutritionists wrong lol
It's odd that they compare fruitarianism to an eating disorder. Especially when we think THEY are the ones who have problems.
Anyone who's different is wrong.
The Details article seems to take Freelee's quote out of context, failing to mention that she is using sarcasm. Ugh...
Really? Besides the comments from "experts" I didn't see it as dark.
He approaches it the topic with a little bit of skepticism the way most would who was unfamiliar with something on the fringe. I mean he can't just be like "This is the best diet evaarrr"
I thought this was hilarious too:
When asked why anyone could want him dead—with the possible exception of a really paranoid Kraft Foods executive—Arnstein says simply, and without any apparent irony, "There are lunatics out there."
The ethical upsides to this extreme vegan diet have their warm and fuzzy appeal, but if eating a spit-roasted polar bear could help him achieve a 2:10 marathon time, he'd gladly chow down. "I'm doing this," he says, "because I want to win."
Really gladly chow down?
It's worth noting that Mike didn't actually say that, and that likely was an analogy regarding the author's impression of Mike's desire to be the best.
