30 Bananas a Day!

About 2 days ago, I was on my lunch break browsing the produce section of the Walmart I work at and run into Nick (not his real name and he's the produce guy). I ended up asking him what they do with their spotted bananas (thinking maybe they donated their fruit like they do with boxed goods) and he tells me they throw them away. He doesn't even LIKE throwing out good produce like that because people tend to make banana bread. Thinks its a total waste tossing good food. I even mentioned that I make smoothies with bananas. He wants to suggest to management to at least have a discount produce section. I ended up asking him if it would be okay if there are any spotting bananas they pull to let me buy them from him. He said certainly!  Score <3 (heart) potentially discounted produce straight from the store I work at. Now I just have to wait and check every now and then when I'm at work.

Awesome! Grocery stores end up pitching a lot of perfectly good produce. One of the stores in town offer discount ripe or "not fancy grade" (aka not estecially pleasing to some) produce. I wish more did or donated what they consider unsellable. What a waste in general but what a great score for you!

My local Save Mart does the discount on ripe or bruised fruit or ascetically pleasing veggies and fruit but I only go there sometimes. It is saddening to know that they don't donate their undesirable produce. Oh, I almost forgot ^^; the next day, the produce truck came and a whole pallet of fruit collapsed and shattered a case of ranch salad dressing..ended up having to help, but sadly a lot of the fruit wasn't salvageable. The truck smelled awful from the dressing. So many raspberries, black berries, apples, strawberries, gone. Totally made me sad that I couldn't have taken the fruit because of broken glass and the spoiled ranch..

yes!! You found the right guy at the right time who's willing to use his head and actually appreciates that food is precious and should go to good use.

I am very sad :( I found out that I can't get a 10% discount for buying a case of any produce at Walmart here in my town..*stares at the spotting case of organic del monte bananas sadly* Why do you have to be 78c a pound??

Yea spotty bananas aren't appealing to the masses so they either discount them or throw them out, which is great for us as long as we buy them all up!

Do you not have a produce terminal where you live? You can get a 40Ib. case of spotty bananas for $5 almost every time :DD

Now you can't be vegan 'cause... Mineral levels in plants are depleted. LifeRegenerator lacks sense

LifeRegenerator appears on RawKristina's video and repeats what an anti-vegan told me days before... that mineral levels in plant foods have depleted by 85 percent
