30 Bananas a Day!


This is my first cycle on 811rv and I am having a very heavy flow, my first time using the diva cup as well. So I'm very excited! 

I have a history of "abnormal menstruation". Began age 10. I had a D&C when I was 11 because I wouldn't stop bleeding. Then no period for a year, so I was started on birth control pills to regulate my flow. I stopped taking them when I was 15. I have taken birth control on and off since then with major whacked out flows. I would bleed for 2-8 weeks and then nothing for 6 months. I fainted in the Doctor's office they said my iron was so low had I waited another week to come in I would've been dead. I knew nothing about being healthy at that time in my life.

I have had 3 miscarriages, and one full term pregnancy. 

So I'm still new to 811rv. I'm 4 months along now.

I would like to know with my history is there any particular fruits or veggies I should be eating while I'm on my menstruation?

Also, with the Diva cup is there anyone else who experience leakage? Is it normal to leak using this product? What do you use to catch it, if so?

I know I put it in properly. I know I'm flowing heavy I had to empty it twice within a 4 hour time period, it was to the line. Maybe that's why I'm leaking?

Further down the road will my periods diminish? I read alot of ladies on here don't get periods hardly ever and when they do they're mild.

I use a diva cup too - love it!  I back up with Glad Rags, these flannel menstrual pads that you can toss in with your laundry and use over and over.  I haven't bought any feminine protection items in over a decade, which is so cool.

When you are having a heavy flow, you will need to empty the cup more frequently.  The one downside to the cup is that it's hard to tell if it's getting full or not unless you actually empty it.  So when you know you are having a heavy flow day, I recommend changing it every hour or two.  It shouldn't be leaking - that means you are letting it go too long and you need to change it more frequently (assuming you put in it correctly.)

During the light flow days I can l put it in in the morning and leave it in all day, and then I just change it when I first get home from work and again before bed. 

And your period is likely to get a lot mellower as you get cleaner and have less to detox.
