30 Bananas a Day!

Hi everyone!

So ive been eating a lot of mangoes lately and I noticed Im starting to break out around my lips. Normally I get small pimples around my lips like this when I am stressed out, and this month has definitely been stressful for me, but I noticed that they are kind of itchy too. So I was wondering if im getting an allergic reaction to mangoes or if anyone else has had this problem?

Ive also been eating a lot of tomatoes lately too, so maybe the combination of the two?

Thanks!

I had cold sores in my mouth after lots of citrus fruits but never mango rash.
Spring Mango season starts in a few weeks in Colombia so I hope I dont get rashes.

Most likely too much citrus. My tongue always hurts after eating pineapple. I can't eat an entire pineapple in a day. So sad. I love pineapple.

I really haven't been eating anything acidic besides tomatoes. My tongue or mouth doesn't hurt either, its almost just like a small rash around my lips like poison ivy.

Mangos make me break out too!! It makes me so sad cause they are my favorite! I read somewhere that some tropical fruits can make you break out because your body isn't that used to them??

Were those mangoes organic? if not ... maybe some nasty pesticides causing ur issues.....

Oh no! They weren't organic, I'm in New England and organic mangoes are crazy expensive so I only buy them every once in a while but I washed them very well knowing they could have sprayed them.

Does washing with cold water not get rid of pesticides?

Soak your fruit in raw apple cider vinegar for 30min. I do this to my grapes because grapes are so expensive. Even the ones that aren't organic are super expensive. Anyway, apple cider vinegar helps to get rid of pesticides.

That wont affect the taste of my fruit at all?

I mean, if you soaked it with the peel on, I don't think so. My grapes aren't affected.

So I believe I'm having an allergic reaction to mangoes, which is unfortunate because I really love the fruit :\ sad sad day.

i get the same reaction when i eat mangoes.  rash around lips and anywhere that the skin touches- is usually itchy and painful for about 10 days after.  i just avoid eating them :(
