I'm not a snob (my family would beg to differ) but I think this show is glorifying and celebrating hedonism.
I'm really starting to get grossed out by meat. I was vegan for health reasons for a while, but would cheat with turkey on occasion. It seems so odd now though.. I think eating higher raw has increased my sensitivity. (cause colors are brighter too!).
i like watching or hearing peoples reactions when he is biting into some poor animal. then i ask em what is the difference between that wannabe savage and your savage eating habits? :)
i wish the cameraperson would keep filming when they stop to have real meals during shooting and show what he really prefers to eat..lol! but then again, people wouldnt have a fantasy show to justify their savagery eh?
'look marge, that mans eats meat just like me! he is a hunter too! its ok to talk cos the adverts are on, hang on kmart has a sale, be quiet a minute'.
I don't have a TV at my house, but have seen this show a few times while at my parents' house. I admit...I do find it mildly entertaining.
I also find it funny that at the end of the shows when he accomplishes his goal he says something like, In this battle between man vs. food, man has won. To me it seems quite the opposite. Seems like food has won. He's the one that ends up miserable and puking...not the food.
