30 Bananas a Day!

Where are you?
What fruit is local at your farmers market now?
I am in Los Angeles. There are little juicy sweet organic local fruit offerings. A good time for me to go to Apple Island. I start tomorrow.
HERE IS WHAT IS AT THE FARMERS MARKETS IN LA NOW:

apples
pears
oranges
tangerines
grapefruits
pummelos (I dont like)
blueberries
strawberries
SEEDLESS grapes
persimmons (I ate too many last month)
pomegranites

THAT'S IT!
(Mark, did I miss anything? what you eating?)
I want mangos. they are not local ever. Neither are pineapples. I want melons. They are not winter. I want dragonfruit! Freelea I am drooling.

Apples it is. I am bored by food.

Hello Mish,
I am on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
Luscious fruit, from our growers and at our markets at the moment:

Pineapple,
Bananas, Ladyfingers and Cavendish,
Mangoes,
Fresh Figs!!!! (the best jam balls)
Watermelon,
Wurtz Avocados,
Cucumbers,
Blueberries,
Canistel (few and far between)
Lychees,
Passionfruit,
Chocolate Sapote
Tomatoes

We are happy ♥
Oh yeah Annie, I forgot my beloved cucs and toms. Hooked on the little crunchy Persian cucs. I eat them every day! I want sapote!!! Never heard of canistel. I go Google it!
OH! EGG FRUIT! I never had.
I want all these
Here is a photo for you Mish

PRETTYYYYYYYY! I wanna sink my teeth right in.
Its the star shape again,
the five sections, this geometry seems very harmonious with fruit.
we are jealous!!!

It was -8F this time last night.
when we are truly hungry, we will never feel bored. can you imagine being part of a rescue team, hiking in the mountains for over a month, looking for a plane wreck survivor. when you reach them and say 'all we have is apples' would we expect them to say 'APPLES?!! how boring!' lol!

ive been to santa monica market this time of year. there is heaps. persimmons when ripe are ALWAYS GOOEY SOFT, eating them crunchy is eating them unripe. citrus is a winner. im getting most of my calories this last week from sweet organic oranges and ive trained up and down mountains with the elite of elite cycling..

when i go shopping or foraging, i dont care what i find or buy or how much it costs, all i care about is IS IT SWEET ENOUGH? RIPE ENOUGH AND CALORICALLY ENOUGH?

as far as locations go, ive got cycling mates that say 'oh i wish i could ride with lance! your so lucky harley!' and im like 'wish?! dont wish! go out and make it happen or quit ya wishful yapp'n!' lol!
I live in a Northern climate and I found out today that I can order just about all kinds of tropical fruit. It does not feel right to do that though, apart from the costs of flying it all in.

My belief is quite strong that one should eat locally or move to the tropics. Why is it that we are bored with apples all the time? Is there a reason that we do not want any more apples or is it in the mind as DR says?
apples are fucking boring, no doubt about it.
the problem comes when fruit markets on your area are low on high quality, sweet and ripe fruit. this is a problem i've suffered from this week. i've been pig sick of the low grade fruit on offer, and meal times haven't been seen as much of a feast like they should be, i feel deprived of good quality food which is irritating, but i know it wont last.
